Jacob looked behind them at one point and saw something make a sharp turn behind a building and it got him concerned enough to stop. He picked up a small rock and threw it at Zach to get attention and pointed at where he saw the thing dart behind.
Zach nodded and they slowly made their way to the building that had a hidden figure. Raising their rifle and shotgun, they took them off of their safety and quickly turned the corner, cornering whatever the hell is was that was back here.
As they turned the corner though, they didn't see anything, but Jacob knew that was impossible because this was really the only way in and out, especially for the size of whatever it was that he saw, even though there were a couple of smaller entrances to get through, but those were mainly used for cats and other small animals, and what he saw, there was no way in hell that was a fucking cat.
Jacob was confused. He knew that he saw something, and that there was no way that it could get away this quick. He looked over to his brother, "You also had the feeling that we were being followed, right?"
"I felt something, couldn't say whether or not that it was us being followed. I know what you're saying though. If something was here, it shouldn't have gotten away from us, at least not this fast." He looked at the buildings and saw that the fire escapes ladders had been pulled down and off of their platforms. He looked back at Jacob, who also was looking at the ladders, "But whatever it is, it's probably something we should avoid...at least until we know what the fuck it is, sound good?"
"Fine by me. Besides, we have something to deal with first before we move to figuring this situation out." Jacob flipped the safety back on his rifle and started to head back towards King's tower.
"Yeah...right." Now that he saw the ladders and saw how they were ripped off of their railing and platform, he was beginning to feel a sense of unease, because he began to think of what would happen if this thing decided to turn its attention to them. Even if Zach might be overreacting about what did this, just the thought of something like that existing wouldn't be too farfetched, but it was still be something he would want to fuck with, whether it was real or not. Not wanting to think about it anymore, he turned around and ran to catch up with Jacob before he did something too crazy for even them to handle.
My name...my name is...
He was doing everything to remember who he was, but his memory was still too foggy, still too fragmented for him to fully remember. He watched as Zach and Jacob continued to run towards the "Corporate" zone of the city. For some reason he was remembering everyone except for who he was. With no other choice, he continued to follow them, but in order to avoid another incident like that, he needed to conceal himself. He looked around and saw that he found a body laying close by. He went over to the body to find out if it had anything worth using and saw that they were wearing a blank white mask with some blood on it. He took it off their face and felt that they must have died very recently, because he could still feel some warmth to their flesh, causing something to stir within him, a hunger that was powerful and hard for him to fight. Before he knew it, he began to rip the body apart and began to devour the flesh as if his life depended on it.
Realizing what he had just done as he looked down and saw that the body was even more mangled than it was previously and could feel the flesh within his stomach and their blood on his face, he knew now that something was definitely wrong with him now, and it may have something to do with him not remembering about who he is. But no matter, whether something was wrong with him or not, he still didn't need Jacob and Zach seeing him the way he is, especially since he didn't know himself. He grabbed the mask and placed it on his face, knowing that it was going to take more than just a mask for him to remain hidden from those two. He ventured away from them just for few moments until he found something to help him hide from them better if need be, besides, he had a gut feeling he knew where they were going, so it's not like he was losing their trail. He found a clothing store and saw that one of the windows had been shattered, but for what it looked like, none of the merchandize had been tampered with, so either it was someone trying to steal the money when This, whatever This was, happened, or someone was looking for shelter. Carefully, as not to scare anyone or set something off, he crawled through the window and his immediate reaction was to head for the hoodies and jackets. He looked through them and was about to reach for a graphic style hoodie, but stopped himself and instead grabbed a basic black hoodie that also had a deep hood to make it easier to hide his face in case he didn't have the mask on. With his decision made, he removed the tags and pulled it over his heads and this place the mask over his face.
