"Ugh, I hate history." William was bummed.
"Aw, come on Will! It's actually quite interesting how wizards and witches survived before our time!"
He looked sceptical at me.
"Why are you so happy? You always used to hate history?"
"Well, maybe I'm a new person today."
I felt pretty new. I don't really know why.
"Hey there!"
I turned around and saw Jack smiling at me, just before he disappeared in the classroom.
I felt how I turned red.
During the lesson I just stared at Jack and thought of everything I wanted to say to him. It was weird though, that I was so obsessed with him. I've never been this obsessed with anyone, not even any girl. Is this some usual boy stage everyone goes through? Or am I weird?
Professor Binns boring voice broke through my thoughts.
"Class dismissed."
William waited for me to go, but I said a mumbling "uh, I'll be right there." He went away.
I went quickly to Jack and started with "HEY!"
He smiled. "Hey."
Then it went quiet. I realised I hadn't planned anything to say. I turned red.
"Uuuh I just wondered if you wanted to.. maybe.. hang out? On like, Saturday? If you can, you know just chill around, heh."
Stupidest. Thing. I've. Ever. Said.
But Jack smiled. "Sure. Five o'clock, the big oak tree?"
I nodded, since my mouth lost connection with the brain.
"Splendidly!" He grinned and then went out.
I stood there, all by myself, but I didn't feel lonely. I've never felt this happy in years, actually.
