Her bright green eyes were now dim and expressionless, they were empty of life, lost in the sorrow she saw before her. When he died, all the light drained out her body, and it almost mentally crushed her.
My Fault.
She thinks as cool blue tears roll down her pale almost snow white cheeks.
I killed him.
She falls to her knees and sobs, not caring that her black dress with the pretty lace was getting dirty, for she was grieving for the life that was lost.
I loved him, and I killed him.
The girl's stepfather, Robert, stood behind her in the sand not saying a word. Only watching as his only child cried her eyes out. Robert sighed saying,
"Claire, it is time to disperse of the ashes."
The girl-Claire-nodded, and ran her fingers through her raven black hair, sighing. The grieving teen stood up and took the cream colored cremation pot from her late boyfriend's mother. Their eyes met, and although one pair was green, and one pair was brown, they were alike for the pain held in them. Mrs. Roth smiled a bittersweet smile at her late son's ex-girlfriend, and Claire returned the favor.
The teenager walked to the edge of an ocean, focused on the task at hand. She chose this spot for many reasons, consisting of it being the place they'd been when the pair had met.
The place it had been when they went on their first date.
The place where his ashes would drift out to sea.
The place where they both had their first kiss.
The place where he discovered he had power over water.
The place where he died.
The place where she killed him.
The teenager's mind carried her back to that horrible day that changed everything...
