Willow sat  next to Caleb, sighing slightly. It wasn’t expected of her, and it had always been this way with her life. She looked again to the human, free and willingly living his life with exuberance.

“You know you’re the first human I have ever laid my eyes on.”

“I make a great first impression, a portrait of real modesty wouldn’t you say so too?” He replied, his speech flowing and senseless.

Willow remembered the summer as being a summer where she embraced a parallel universe with a mortal, and she had known from everything he had shown her that a part of her was in love with him. She loved what he stood for, truly different from the guys she had known in the past. She shook off the memories of him because she knew this long distance, the fact he was off in another college would inevitably break off their relationship.

Willow closed her eyes, stubbing out her cigarette and looking to the time…7.30am.

It was time to get ready for class; she threw on what she could find on the floor and swore to the thought of Mondays, always depressing and never a cure for such a terrible day.

Willow walked along the hallways, turned into the assembly hall where leaflets where given out, “A successful students guide to succeeding in River Ivy and beyond.”

Willow rolled her eyes and sat next to three fairies. They were drastically dressed in preppy clothing each adorning Ralph Lauren Polo. It wouldn’t be long till the headmistress, Lady Carlotta, would appear and begin the welcoming. One of the fairy girls turned to Willow, smiling as she shook out her golden curls, her wide blue eyes warming as she whispered to Willow, “Hello, my name is Belle Lalagos and these are my best friends, Skylar Briar and Petunia Niota .”

Willow smiled, her own silver eyes staring back into Belle’s as she responded, “My name is Willow Delmont and it is wonderful to meet you all.” Willow thought for her first day, her interaction skills were on the scale and progressing.

“You see girls, I knew she was Willow. You wanted to doubt me, but I knew I had seen her picture in The Enquirer only last week when she arrived. If you were a true follower, you would understand… Willow is an elf with beauty, confidence and surely a master of the academics!” Skylar enthused whilst Willow sunk into her seat holding embarrassment closely to her heart and mind.

“I knew it was her too, Sky. I was just uncertain when I saw her hair was a different colour from her original colour, but to be honest this cherry red look on you is something I could never pull off…” Belle continued to say, Willow took a mental note to stay away from fairies let alone even consider stepping into public halls again.

Willow sighed, listening to them ramble on about her life and her achievements, her relation to Einstein and her development in the world. It was what her parents had allowed her to grow up in, a nest of pretentious ideas to continue the cycle. Her thoughts were broken off by the ringing of a gong, as a fleet of vampires, angels, demons and werewolves rolled in to take their seats. Willow knew and relished that in prestigious society, there was nothing more dangerous than scandal and gossip. She hoped she could avoid such mishaps, because of everything that happened. Willow agreed that she was over thinking everything and let her mind, attempt to enjoy this assembly.

The gong rung again as in a handsome looking young man, he wore a black vest with black buttons, a white a shirt and handsome fall front trousers. A diamond designed monocle on his right eye, a staff wielded in his hands and black and white leather spectacle boots. He stood at behind the podium; gallantly he introduced himself, “Students, I am afraid Lady Carlotta is unable to attend this morning’s assembly due to uncertain circumstances. There isn’t much to say, honestly. My name is Ezra, I am the teacher of and master of magical arts. I would like to welcome all the diverse set of mortals and immortal people that join us in a hopeful year at River Ivy. I look forward to meeting you all in classes.”

He hesitated slightly, looking to Willow whose eyes were fixated on him and he couldn’t help but stare back though he knew it was wrong to think in such a way, amongst the crowd she shone brighter than them all. Willow blushed slightly, wondering why such thoughts were looming her mind. He was a teacher, she was a student but she had just broken up with her boyfriend and felt the need to fulfil that position. It didn’t make sense to her, when she was attracted to someone she was, she couldn’t help her nature her eyes began to change colours. This was a natural response of the elves when they found a light in someone. It wasn’t like she was in love with Ezra; she just found him appealing and apart of her wanted him for the lust. Her mind was as if a nymph creature, yet she erased any thoughts of anything and left it for a fantasy, besides there was a diverse set of students already. All she wanted was to find someone like Caleb, which she knew was simply impossible.
