Chapter Eight

I stare at the three of them as they smirk at each other.

This is such a horrible idea. The game hadn't even started and we all had drank at least one beer each, and I don't even usually like beer. HORRIBLE IDEA.

Mason got it into his head that it would be fun to play truth or dare, but his own special version, or the internet's.

We all sat in a make-shift circle in the middle of my living room, surrounded by beer cans.

God, how did I get talked into this?

Oh that's right, my best friend is mentally insane and made me play with her. HAHAHA... HILARIOUS!!!!!

"Explain your rules Mason, so we can get this over with." I say glaring at everyone around me.

Carter sends me an apologetic look before, answering for Mason. "So in Mason's version of Truth or Dare, you have an option of not answering or doing it. You only get to do this three times, though. When you do you must chug your beer for three seconds. If you do it more then once the number of seconds doubles. So it's three, six, twelve. Say you use it all three times you're out, but if no one else has passed their dare/truth they can ask them to do one thing and they must do it." Carter says before sending a side glance at Mason who was grinning like a fool.

"I raised you so well." Mason fake sniffles and launched himself at Carter, who look like he's going to combust.

"Hey, hey break it up." Megan says snapping her fingers in their direction.

Mason unlatches himself from a very uncomfortable Carter and smirks at Megan. "Oh don't be jealous cupcake you'll get your turn soon enough." Mason says and laughs demonically.

"Only in your dreams Mason." Megan says while sending challenging look at Mason.

"Okay, now let's play. Megan you can go first." Carter says interrupting what was bound to be a brawl or a hot make out session. Either way thank God.

"Okay. Carter, truth or dare?" She asks.

"Dare" He says, smirking slightly.

"I dare you to whisper sweet nothings in Harper's ear."

I tense up as Carter, who is next to me leans in. I feel his hot breath and I cringe. Of course.

He pounders what to say for a second then says, "Three donuts minus three donuts equals zero donuts."

It takes me a moment, then I literally die. I laugh so hard it's not even funny. Yet it's hilarious. Or maybe it's the alcohol?

Mason and Megan stare at me for a second, with confusion written on their faces.

I am able to pull myself together, and smile knowingly at Carter who smiles back.

"So I'm gonna ask, what the hell did he say?" Mason huffs, clearly not liking not knowing.

"It's not your turn Mason," Carter says sweetly. "It's mine. Megan, truth or dare?" Carter asks my best friend.

"Dare, duh." She responds automatically.

"Fine, I dare you to take a body shot from Mason." He says smirking.

"I would, but I'm pretty sure Harper doesn't have any tequila." She says, correctly.

I nod in agreement. I usually don't care for alcohol other then a glass of wine every now and then. It just did nothing for me I suppose. Oh my gosh Megan was right I am forty years old.
