Alec's POV
"Yeah this place ain't creepy", Simon said as we got out of the van. Anastasia leaning on a pole, fixing her gun that most likely was jammed by the looks of it.
"Don't tell me you're afraid", Isabelle chuckled as Anastasia rolled her eyes walking towards the city of bones.
"Rhetorical Question.", she said just as Simon said, "Are you kidding me? I was born afraid...which sounded a lot better in my head."
"Let's check it out", I rolled my eyes, following after Anastasia who was looking around.
Anastasia's POV (listen to Rescue My Heart by Liz Longely)
I leaned into the city of bones, seeing if any of the brothers were nearby. I smirked thinking, a prank will do just the thing.
I took off my jacket throwing it on the ground before running inside.
"Sister Herondale", I heard Silent brother Jermiah say making me turn around quickly.
"Hey-o", I said as he touched my arm,"Your time is coming Herondale. When the truth is laid out in front of you. The pain will return, and the walls will crumbly. Do not push him out. He is your savior.", "Okay" ,I said confused patting his arm before I returned back to the entrance.
I turned into the door and opened it bumping into Jace's back and making Clary scream as I was still confused. Who the hell is 'him'?
"What the hell Ana?!?", Clary said as I looked at the door.
"Sorry Clarissa", I said picking up my jacket and walking towards the bridge keeping a distance.
"The rune energy in the City of Bones will kill any mundane who dares to enter, so please...", I heard Alec said as I slipped my leather jacket.
"The brothers' creep me out. I'll mind the mundane.", Izzy said as I looked towards the gate before I zoned out trying to figure it out. Could it be Aaron or Theo?
Alec's POV
"So is cracking someone's mind open supposed to take this long. It didn't seem so, with Anastasia the mute", Simon said and we all turned to look at Anastasia who looked at Simon with a blank look while cleaning her blade. Yeah maybe saying that was not smart, mundane. What is with her.
"Take my word for it. The silent brothers are quite unpleasant", chuckled Isabelle who no doubt was flirting with Simon. Why a mundane.
"That's not helping. Not at all", Simon said getting nervous, but I still kept my attention on Anastasia who wasn't pay attention to anything but staring at the entrance. What did she see?
Isabelle and Simon started talking about his band.
"It literally never stops talking", I said getting annoyed with this mundane. "Never does", Anastasia bluntly replied making me look at her amused.
"Is he always so charming?...I would ask about liar over there but no one knows her.", Simon said and you could see the gears clicking into Ana's head as she smirked looking over at him.
She pointed her blade at him,"Call, all of you lucky for that." What does she mean by that?
Isabelle ignore it, "Firstborn. Heavy is the head that wears the crown".
"I feel his pain. Only son.", Simon said and Ana rolled her eyes before walking away.
"I'm going to check the perimeter, I can't be here anymore", I said as I couldn't stand being around the mundane anymore and this is the second time i caught Ana, caught up in her thoughts and it's not looking good.
"Anastasia!", I said looking around pushing back the bushes.
I heard a scream and I ran towards it. I stopped turning in circles looking up, "Ana!", I yelled as a figure flashed by in the trees.
I turned around quickly when two figures fell down, one burned to ashes.
I ran over there and saw ashes of a body and Ana groaning trying to sit up.
"What happened?", I said kneeling down by her helping her up. Her head was bleeding and there was a noticeable bruise on her neck.
She looked up at me pissed off,"You want to explain why I have leeches after me now. I'm not Clary", she said shaking my arm off as she stood up.
I sighed following her, "Because you're her friend", I said unconvincingly.
She looked back at me with a 'really' look, just before we heard Clary screaming for Simon.
"This doesn't get easy", she mumbled as we ran towards them to see two vampires holding him hostage.
Ana's POV
Simon may be pissed at me but I still care for him, and right now I'm terrified.
"Let the mundane go", I said as I took out my blade that was made to kill vampires as the edges burned with uv light.
"Anastasia Herondale. Aren't we blessed Raphael", the girl vampire said and I stood forward making her grip on Simon tightened and him scream in pain.
"I'd watch out hybrid. Not all downworlders like you", Raphael said smirking down at me.
"He has no place in this war Raph...let him go-", I said dropping my blade as Isabelle said,"Don't" trying to reach for me.
"You either want Clary for the mortal cup or me like your dead buddy right now.", I said dropping my weapon belt and my steele".
"The hybrid shadowhunter for a mundane...", Raph said before wind blew past all of us and he was in front of me.
Alec went to shoot and I held my hand up before I set my arms in front of the vampire.
"I have to admit the reasons behind you guys wanting me. I'll never understand", I said before he grabbed me and zoomed off. Please tell me they let Simon go.
