I love the arguments of "Anime's for kids because it's a cartoon." But later they go home and watch something South Park or Family Guy and are like "It's an adult cartoon."
But it's still a cartoon.
So therefore, the argument of "it's a cartoon so it's for kids" is nullified because if you're going to call an entire genre of animation a "cartoon" then that includes adult cartoons as well. Because TV channels for children can totally go and run hentai, Corpse Party and other gory/sexual shows because "Hey! Anime is for children!" Pretty sure Timmy over there will be traumatized for life and they'd get a serious lawsuit for showing hentai because of censorship laws and stuff.
This also comes from the people who will look at anime and go "I'm not gonna watch it because it's for kids" but then they go and watch movies like Frozen or Moana ten times each. (Never seen either of them)
