Flavius worked on my hair, positioning the Tiara Effie insisted I wore, with a veil. Venia waxed my eyebrows an put my make up on, while Octavia made up my nails. Everybody made small talk while I felt my heart in my chest beating furiously fast causing me to feel nauseous.

Johanna was out of the shower with in a matter of minutes, still unsure what the consequences would be if she touched water. She never takes baths, only quick showers. She sat on the bed, clean pyjamas on an a coffee in hand, with we thinking face on.

"Well katniss what do you think?" Flavius asked holding a Mirror up to my face, showing the front of my hair then the back.

"It's beautiful thank you" I said Flavius. He seemed pleased with his work.

Venia wasn't finished with my make up so she carried on working.

It was Johanna's turn to have her hair done,

"Oh my, Johanna your hair is beautiful, it's so long an hardly any split ends" Flavius told Johanna admiring her hair.

"Thank you" she said pleased.

"Annie has quite long hair too?" Flavius asked unsure.

"Yeah" Johanna replied.

"and the other bridesmaids?"

"Yep" she answered again.

"Good I'd like to put a quiff in the front of your hair an straighten the back, it would complement your hair so much" he said excitedly.

"Okay" she laughed.

"All done" Octavia smiled looking down at my nails. "Now don't got biting these, they're sculptured!" She warned.

"I won't" I said rolling my eyes.

Annie came walking out the bathroom.

"I will do Annie's nails next" Octavia cheerfully smiled.

"Ann, where's Luca?" I asked, it wondered why it was so quiet.

"Oh, Effie made the boys have him because she wanted us to be ready on time!" She laughed.

"Speaking of on time where the hell are daisy an delly?" Johanna asked.

"ermmmm I don't know actually, Effie will have a fit if we're late!" Annie said worried.

"Shit what times is it?" Johanna asked.

"9:00" I replied, looking at my phone.

"Fuck Effie will be here any second" Johanna said.

at that second the door burst opened.

"Sorry we're late I couldn't stop being sick" delly said almost out of breath.

"Please tell me you've both showered?" Johanna asked.

"Yeah" daisy an delly said in unison.

As the morning went on everybody had their makeup, hair an nails done. At 10:30 Effie turned up, for the first time in her life late.

"I am so sorry everybody, there was a problem with the caterers an decorators" she sighed rubbing her forehead.

"It's fine" I laughed, sensing how stressed she was.

"Are we all on track?" She asked Flavius.

"Yes, with time to spare" I smiled pleased.

"Oh good" Effie sighed. "Well I need to check on the boys, I will see you all soon" Effie smiled leaving.

By 12:30 everybody had their hair, make up an nails done an were getting into their dresses.

I hadn't looked at mine since the bridal shop. I took a deep breath as Annie unzipped the bag. I heard daisy gasp.

"Katniss I love it" she said, I forgot her an delly hasn't seen the dress.

I just stood staring at it.

"Well go on, get it on" Annie laughed.

"Oh yeah" in laughed back covering my eyes with my hands.

"you decent?" Haymitch asked knocking on the door.

"Yes" I said not impressed.

"Well if Johanna isn't that's okay we've all seen her naked" he laughed.

"Hey I'm not a prude" she shrugged.

"Oh you're disgusting" daisy laughed.

"All joking aside, you really do look beautiful sweetheart" haymitch said kissing me on my cheek.

"You don't look to bad your self" I smiled smoothing his tux jacket out.

"Is everybody ready?" Annie asked.

Everyone nodded.

"Come on then, lets get these lovebirds married an then we can get pissed" Johanna shouted.

"Is that all you think about?" Delly asked her.

"Oh shut up you're just jealous you cant drink" she laughed back.

"Sure i am" delly laughed shaking her head.

As we all made our way to the ballroom where me an peeta were getting married I wanted to run. I couldn't wait to marry him, I think I always knew deep down it would be peeta. Me an peeta shared a bond an connection nobody could break, he is the only person who can comfort me after a nightmare. I am the only person who can bring him out of a flashback. I couldn't imagine a world with out him. I realised that in district 13, when he couldn't hold me when I cried from the vicious nightmares disrupting my sleep. I couldn't feel his lips against mine. I knew then it was never gale's fire kindled with rage I had enough fire myself. What I need is the dandelion in the spring. The bright yellow that means rebirth instead of destruction. The promise that life can go on no matter how bad our losses. That it can be good again. And peeta gives me that.
