MIKE'S POV:

"Mike, please can you make some pancakes for breakfast?" I looked over and saw Carrie, in a white oversized t-shirt sitting on the kitchen worktop. She batted her eyes and pouted at me.

"What are you, a two-year old?" I teased back, before turning towards the cooker and starting to make the pancakes. I heard a squeal and suddenly I felt two arm wrap around my waist.

"Thank you, Mike!" I turned around and saw her smiling at me like a child. I love you.

Those three words had been lingering at the top of my tongue for the past couple of days, I've been meaning to say it to her, but finding the right time is impossible. Every time I go to say it, something stops me.

"Mike?" I was pulled out of my thoughts by Carrie.

"Yeah?" I turned all my attention back towards her.

"I..." she hesitated for what felt like forever, before turning around and walking out the kitchen.

"I..um..forgot my phone upstairs, I'll be back." I heard her shout as she walked up the stairs.

Okay, that was wasn't weird.

CARRIE'S POV:

I ran into my room and shut the door. I leant on the back and slid down to the floor.

"Stupid, stupid Carrie." I said out loud to myself. The three words that I had been meaning to say to Mike have been stuck in my mouth. Every time I go to say it, something stops me.

I almost said it today, and I ruined it. I made it awkward like I always do. I leant my head on the back of the door and let out a sigh.

After a couple of minutes of sulking and sighing, I got up and grabbed my phone and headed downstairs. As I got closer to the kitchen I could smell the pancakes, and all of a sudden I heard my stomach rumble.

But that wasn't all I noticed, as I got closer to the kitchen I could hear Mike's baritone voice getting louder, as he sang along to the radio.

"BABY YOU A SONG, YOU MAKE ME WANNA ROLL MY WINDOWS DOWN AND CRUISE!" I giggled as I heard Mike shouting along to the song on the radio.

As I moved to the doorway, I could see Mike wiggling his hips while cooking breakfast. As the song got to the chorus, I saw Mike lift his spatula up and used it as a microphone.

"THIS BRAND NEW CHEVY WITH A LIFT KIT, WOULD LOOK A HELL OF A LOT BETTER WITH YOU UP IN IT" He tapped his foot and bopped his head in time with the music.

"Great singing, Mike" I made sure Mike was aware of my presence. Mike jumped and quickly turned around and placed the spatula on the work top.

"Better watch out Carrie Underwood, I'm coming for that CMA Female Vocalist award" he wiggled his eyebrows and came closer towards me.

I couldn't but laugh at him, this man could never fail to make me laugh. The song finally came to an end and Mike was almost finished with the pancakes.

Then all of a sudden, I heard the familiar guitar introduction of one of my favourite songs.

"Mike this is my favourite! I love this song! Dance with me?" I held out both of my hands and beamed towards him. I saw him look hesitantly towards them.

"Please?" I smiled sweetly at him, and I saw a sweet sparkle as I looked into his eyes.

Baby last night, was hands down,
One of the best nights, I've had no doubt,
Between bottle of wine,
and that look in your eyes,
And the Marvin Gaye,
Then we danced in the dark,
Under September stars in the pouring rain

I grabbed the spatula from Mike's hand and set it aside on the counter, before taking his hands and wrapped them around my waist.

I wrapped my arms around his neck, and we swayed simultaneously to the soft beat of the music.

And I know that I can't ever tell you enough
That all I need in this life,
Is you crazy love.

He ran his hand up and down my back, as we moved to the music. His touch sent shivers down my spine and made the butterflies in my stomach go wild.

I couldn't help but smile as I looked in his eyes,  and it made my heart jump seeing him smile at me back.

If I never get to see the Northern Lights
If I never get to see the Eiffel Tower at night
If all I got is your hand in my hand
Baby I could die a happy man

He spun me around and dipped my back, and when he bought me back up, he pulled me closer towards him.

I had my hands draped across his neck and my head rested on his chest. His head fit perfectly on my shoulder and between my neck. I could hear his heart beating and in that moment I knew, that this was different.

I don't need no vacation,
No fancy destination
Baby, you're my great escape
We could stay at home,
Listen to the radio
Or dance around the fireplace

I pulled back, so I could look Mike in the eyes. In the heat of the moment, I stood on my toes and planted a gentle kiss on his lips before pulling away. He rested his forehead on mine.

"I love you, Care" I heard him whisper.

I opened my eyes and pulled away.

"Say it again, Mike" I sweetly requested.

"I love you, Carrie" he said, louder this time, but still full of sincerity.

I smiled and I could feel my eyes sparkle and my cheeks flush.

"I love you too, Mike" I declared back.

I loved this man, and he loved me.

We carried on dancing long after the song had finished. The breakfast and pancakes were forgotten about, as Mike and I danced to the sound of our hearts beating.

A/N:
This is so cheesy, and I apologise. But don't we all love a bit of cheese?
A much shorter chapter this time, but nevertheless, hope you enjoyed!:)
