There's a storm coming.

Pacing back and forth, I look at the eyes of my best friend.

"I have to tell you something." I'm not even sure why I'm nervous to say this.

"What is it? " His eyes widen for a second. Flinn loves juicy gossips, oh how disappointed he'll be.

"I saw someone, on the b-boats." Stuttering the last word, not sure if I said it correctly. But he's face did fall when he heard the word, he isn't the biggest fan of humans.

"There's plenty of human on boats??" He says impatiently, trying to get me to my point.

"I know, but he seems younger. " I don't even know what I'm saying, why does age matter gosh I'm an idiot. Flinn eyes light up suddenly as though he knows who I am talking about.

"Oh you mean that sailor boy." He does know who I'm taking about. My tails are screwed. Wait, did he say sailor.

"Sailor? I thought he was a fisherm-man?" I really need to adapt on how to say this words.

"Yeah, he's best of both darling, what about him? " he shrugs as if it's nothing new, sometimes I wonder if Flinn would make a good human.

"Don't you think what he's doing is a bit weird." I stupidly say in a light whispery tone as though someone might hear us.

"Honey, it's his job, if anything you're the one acting weird, what's gotten into you. " He looks at me like he can see right through me.

"I-I don't know, I've been following him around." I finally admit letting out a heavy breath.

Flinn looks at me like I have two heads. His eyes go wide as a saucer.

"Are you crazy???!! You've been following a fisherman around??! If he sees you, you're-you're.. "

He starts doing this weird action of what looks like choking on a net. I give him a look.

"Flinn calm down, he won't be able to notice me. If you didn't know I'm actually very good at camouflaging." And yes I take pride in this.

"Yeah, yeah." He sassily retorts, "but it's still dangerous though, you can't just keep following him around and why exactly are you going after him?" His face goes from worried to cheeky because he knows I won't be able to answer that. And he's right. I turn away from him, hoping there's no noticeable blush on my face.

"I don't know, he intrigues me. "

" Aha ! you got a thing for the fisherman."

As I was about to deny it we both hear what sounds to be a lightning crack and thunder boom not too far away. Loud sounds of men shouting and boats hitting the waters fiercely can be heard.

"Don't tell me there's a storm coming." He gives me a worried look and than sarcastically acts like a girl

"Oh no, what'll happen to your sailor boy now. " He says in a high pitched tone.

"This is serious Flinn! He could get hurt." I furrow my eyebrows, I wonder if he's out there. Flinn brings me out of my thoughts.

"What do you expect us to do, go out there to save him ?! We're sea creatures, it's better if we-" he looks up through the translucent waters at the condition of the sky and gulps "stay in."

"But what if something happens out there ? " What if something happens to him.

"So what if something happens out there. You know we can't go out from the sea Luna, you'll lose your breath. " Flinn says chilling near the decorated seashell. As if his words will stop me.

"I'm talking about him, Flinn will you listen !?" He pays no heed to me as he looks through my clam collection. When he finally realize I'm being serious, he gives me a look. Narrowing his eyes, he ask "and why are you so worried about that boy ?"

Honestly I don't know how to answer that. "I'm sure he's been on the sea plenty of times to know how to handle a storm, but what's gotten your tails twisted." He still looked at me with narrowed eyes, I gulp down slowly, my throat dry. I give it a try. (haha I'm a rapper, sry)

"Flinn, he's just so young, and maybe not that experienced, I mean I have seen him netting fishes and honestly he's not that good at it." I lie scrunching up my face, even talking about it makes me feel sick. But the point is-why am I trying to argue this with Flinn, why do I so desperately need to go out there to see if he's harmed. What is this boy doing to me ? Flinn's right, he is a sailor, I'm pretty sure he's gone through many dangerous stormy nights before. But why do I feel like this time its different. Like there's someone warning me something bad is going to happen.

I can see Flinn looking at me worriedly, he's mouth moving, but I can't hear a word he's saying. Everything around me distorted. My tail feels tingly than suddenly a loud "hey snap out of it !" brings me back to sea, but not highly. I know it was Flinn, but I had no time to explain it to him.

"I need to go." I hurriedly let out, I start swimming to surface, looking back at Flinn giving me a confused, disapproving, worried look. I think he knows what I'm about to do but I don't think he's going to stop me. He can't anyways, I'm already gone.
