Chapter 7

We enter the building in silence, but unlike from the way to here he already giving me a look and walk beside me. As we ride the elevator he reaches for my hand and holds it. I let him hold it until we reach our floor. As the door slide open I try to pull my hand without a word, he just tightens his grip.

"I am sorry." He utter as we step out from the elevator with a guilty expression spread on his face.

I look at him with a questioning look. "Did I say something to you?" We stop in front of the foyer door and face each other.

He just shook his head and exhale. "Nothing. I am just-" he stop before he say something to me he will regret. "Sorry" he utter again.

I can see his eyes, he looks like struggling in to something that he wanted to tell but something is up and stopping him to tell me.

"You can tell me everything Chase. We've been together for five years -not that we're friends in that period of time- but that's enough time to trust me." I put my free hand on his arm and rub it up and down to tell him it's okay.

He looks at me troubled. "The city really makes me remember everything, the happy time and the sad one. But -"

The confession really puts a lot of question on my head but it cuts when the door in front of us opened and reveal shock face of Rubble, Rocky and Everest.

I look at them like it is a normal thing to hold Chase like this every day without thinking on what and how will they react, it is me and Chase they are staring at in the first place.

Oh damn! It is me and Chase we are talking about, we hate each other as far as they know. So I instantly release the arm I am rubbing and pull my hand from him and he let me go now. I miss the touch immediately. Do you really want me to feel that way huh? This is not a love story with a happy ending so don't ever expect that.

"Excuse me." Chase murmur beside me and leave me behind and pass the three people in front of us.

While Rubble is looking at me with a teasing look and wiggling his eyebrows, I frown at him.

"Hey!" Everest greets me and put her hand on my elbow. "We are actually looking for the two of you."

It is almost dusk outside, so maybe they are here to go to a tour around Adventure Bay.

"You forgot your phone on the counter and the headset Baby girl so we can't contact you." Rocky stand beside me and put his arm around my shoulder.

I forgot we already have a form of communication now, phone and everything.

I exhale and gave Rocky a side way smile. "I am sorry about that."

"Yeah yeah!" Rubble pulls me inside the room, so Rocky and Everest let me go to their hold. "You don't need to explain. Ryder is here earlier and looking for you and Chase"

"What?" I squeal. "And you're telling it to me now?" I face him.

"Sure, cause you're not here and nowhere to be found. You left your phone and Chase is not answering his." Rubble breaths and patted my back. "Don't worry about that. He told me if you came back just let you know he's waiting upstairs." He said sweetly, like it is not a big deal.

I shake my head. "Do Chase need to go too?" I asked him. Backing out and walking to the stairs.

He just shrugged and smile, I think he knows something about what Ryder will say.
