Chapter 1

"I, state your name." the head of the National Investigation and Protection Department, Mr. Black -not his real name- said on the microphone so everyone can hear him.

Raising my right hand to do my oath for the NIPD as a new member of the team, I follow what the speaker said. "I, Skye" as I mention my name, I remember the first day when I came here.

SEVEN YEARS AGO

It was Sunday morning, I am in St. Mary's Orphanage. Accordingly, my father left me here when I was two years old. Since my mom died by giving birth, my dad got nothing to raise me as his child. So, he doesn't have a choice but to put me in the orphanage where I grew up.

Ever since I am there, I wish I have parents who can give me love like other kids have. I want to feel the care of real parents. But as the time passes by, some of my friends are already adopted by the hopeless parents who can't have a child or parents who wants to add their children.

But I think I don't have luck like them. No one adopted me. No one wants me to be their child. No one even love me for just one glance. And as the time comes by, I realized that, I think, even my parents can't love me enough to make an effort to keep me as their child.

Last Week I turned 15. And every end of the month there's a man or two who come here and fetch kids who turned 15. Last time, I notice a two man wearing all black suits with black car came here and get Tom and Patrick when they turned the said age. They are all my friends and I don't know where they will go. If they will be fine or what.

And the time I woke up this morning, Mother Sarah came to my room and said I need to pack my things because somebody will fetch me. I ask her where I will go, she just answer me with a smile.

It is end of the month again. And since I am the only one who turned 15, I think, I'll go alone.

I got an idea that this will be possibly my end. Someone will fetch me here, I think those man in black. I am trying to calm myself and ask to the Lord for a protection, since Mother Sarah told us that He is the one who's guiding the orphaned kids.

Sitting in the couch of our visitor's room, I felt my heart beating like it really want to go outside my body. My hair in the nape is standing if I heard a car passed by. I am hugging my bag tight like it is my life.

Whena car stop in front of the gate mother Sarah came and reaches for my hand tohold. "Come here Eliz, it's time to go." She said with a smile.

I stand, nodding, but freeze when she pulled me. I don't want to go, this is the home I grew up. I can't leave this place. I love this place even though it is the place that are lot of sadness. This is also the place that full of happiness.

Mother Sarah looks at me when I didn't move. "Honey, it will be fine. Come now." she said with the most heartwarming tone.

My tears start to fall. "I don't want to go." I choke.

She smile at me and lean to kiss my forehead "Don't worry, the place where they will bring you, will be like home. You'll enjoy it." She mutters, pulling me again.
