Chap 2: Coffee

Yuri's POV

As I looked to see who our first customer was, I frowned. It was Yuuri Katsuki. Yuuri Katsuki is a college student that frequents the cafe. He says he really enjoys the coffee here but in all honesty I believe that he's here for Victor.

The two are head over heels for each other, but they won't tell each other. It's frustrating watching the two flirt with one another, then later say it was a casual conversation.

In the cafe everyone knows of this and behind the two's back, love the idea of the two together, but because the two are idiots and don't realize their feelings towards one another it ends up getting on everyone's nerves. Especially Pichit, he's what he calls their number one shipper.

We don't exactly know what that entitles, but we later learned when we found his phone full of pictures of them flirting. I on the other hand am okay with the relationship, but it's so lovey dovey I can't stand it at the same time.

And what makes it worse for me is the fact that I've known Victor for a long time, and since we are what he calls "friends" he makes me listen to his rambles on him. So you can see why I have a distaste for the guy.

I sigh as I watch Victor's eyes light up at the sight of Yuuri and rush over to where he was sitting and took his order. Yes, he has made himself Yuuri's personal waiter. Once he came back to his station he smiled as he made some coffee for him. I leaned against the doorframe and sighed as he put down the coffee for Yuuri and started a conversation with him. His thick russian accent made Yuuri immediately blush.

But to everyone's dismay, Victor didn't notice. I groaned and watched as a few of my colleagues let out their frustration. I could hear Jasmine let out a small yell out of frustration and Daisy frantically try to shut her up, Mila just dropped her head onto the counter, Pichit just kept on taking pictures of the two, Georgi looked like he was about to cry, and Lillian left the room to go to her office with the words, "I'm done".

After a bit of flirting between the two boys Victor finally returned to work and let the college boy study like he always does before class. Victor eyes us a bit as he lays back on the counter, "what happened to you guys?" he asked obliviously. I rolled my eyes and walked back into the kitchen, "Yurio! Don't be like that!" he yelled running after me.

I ran into the kitchen and closed the door loudly, as a sign for Victor to not come in. As I looked up I saw Jasmine and Daisy standing there making the lunch items. I sigh as I walk into the room and walk over to Jasmine. "Victor is so oblivious, I wish the too would just kiss and get it over with already" Jasmine said while cutting some fresh meat. I sigh, "agreed" I say walking over to the counter stealing a quick sandwich before bolting out the door. "Hey!" I heard Jasmine yell as I ran out.

I smirked to myself as I bit into the sandwich and looked around the cafe. A lot more people had arrived by now and Mila and Pichit were working hard to get all the orders. Luckily since it was breakfast we didn't have to worry about the food Jasmine and Daisy were preparing yet, so I just looked at what was being ordered and placed the pastries on plates for Mila and Pichit to take.

We'd been doing this for a while when finally the rush seemed to of calmed down. I sighed and looked down at our supply of food and sighed, we still had a good amount left, but I knew I would have to get back into the kitchen to make some more sweets.

With that in mind I hurriedly made my way back to the kitchen but a hand stopped me. I looked up to the person who was stopping me and saw it was Victor, and right behind him, Mila. "What do you want you old hags?" I ask annoyed.

The two sigh, "we're not old Yurio, and we just wanted to tell you that we're having some interviews today" Mila said calmly. I nod at the two and roll my eyes, "and what does this have to do with me?" I ask. "We need you to take over" they say in sync. My face dropped, "what?" I ask, disbelief dripping from my voice. "You heard us, we need you to wait on people and make some coffee, today isn't going to be busy from now on, Pichit will take over making sweets so all you have to do is make coffee and take orders" Victor said as if all that he was saying was possible for me to do.

"You know how waiting went last time, what makes you think this time will be alright?" I question glaring at the two. I couldn't believe what they were saying. Me, wait on people? As if!

"We remember, and you're a lot calmer than before, we think that this would be a great learning experience" Mila said looking up at Victor. I sigh, they were right on a few of those things. After being with these dorks for so long I softened up a bit, but to anyone outside, I'm as cold as winter.

"Fine, just go already" I huff crossing my arms. The two smile, "thank you Yurio!" the two say before running out the room. I growl under my breath and wait for a new customer to come in, so I could wait on them. The very thought made me a bit angry.

For awhile everything was quiet, some people drinking their coffee slowly, me knowing it would be awhile before I had to help them again, and I struck up a few conversations with Georgi, when I heard that dang bell ring.

I slowly turned my head to whom it was and saw a tall man with dark brown hair and eyes, wearing a black jacket, a scarf, and dark grey pants. He had a bag that hung low on his shoulder that probably held a computer or some kind of work. The sides of his head were shaved and his hair was slicked back, but at the same time it had this wave to it.

Without a word he sat down in the nearest window seat and I took the dreadful walk to his table. "Hi, welcome to Ice Cafe, what can I get you?" I ask the man. He looked up at me, not a single emotion on his face and said, "I'll have an espresso" then he turned back to his back and pulled out a computer.

I nod at him and walk off, and along the way sighed a bit at the fact I had managed to not get angry at the fact there was no emotion on his face. It made me a little frustrated. I quickly walked behind the counter and made the espresso as quickly and as carefully as I could before I headed back over to him.

Once I was there I took the coffee and set it down next to him and as nicely as I could I told him to enjoy. He then looked up at me and actually smiled, showed emotion, and for some reason I didn't feel like slapping him.

"Thank you" he said before taking a sip. His eyes widened a bit and I thought he didn't like it but he just started at it and muttered, "that's really good" and took another sip. Feeling a bit proud I walked back behind the counter and waited for the next bell to ring.

Only a few moment later it did and I made them their coffee's but I didn't get a reaction quite like the one guy's. After a bit he raised his hand to get my attention and I walked over only for him to order another, but with a small slice of strawberry cake.

I don't know why but I felt like I had to make it perfect, like better than the one before. I took my time, but at the same time hurried a bit so I didn't keep him waiting, then once it was done I got the cake and placed it next to him.

He took the fork next to him and took a piece out of the cake and bit into it and smiled a bit. He then took the espresso and sipped into it as well, but his smile much larger. "They were right, the stuff here is amazing" he took another sip of the coffee and turned to me, "I think I'll have to come again" he said, and for some reason I blushed.

I did I quick nod at him and then hurried over to the counter and saw Georgi and the others looking at me. My face was beet red. "Yuri, what happened?" Georgi asked looking at me concerned. I shook my head, "I-i'm fine, I don't know what's the matter" I say confusing my own self.

What was that?

After that whole thing happened he finished it all up and went to the counter to pay. I quickly told him how much he owed and he handed me the money, and gave me a small smile, "it was nice to meet you" he trailed off for a moment to look at my tag then continued, "Yuri, my name's Otabek. I guess I'll see you again" he said walking out.

And for some reason I didn't understand, I really wanted time to hurry up so I could see him already.

It's late, I want to sleep to so thank you to @bless_me_daddy and @DaisyStemple  for submitting there names to be apart of the book, the rest of you that suggested are being interviewed right now by Mila and Victor so you guys will get in as well! Thank you so much for reading!
