NIPD: Team Alpha

Questions

This is the Chase I never knew, the Chase before he join NIPD, and apparently,  when he is not yet Chase.

The next word he mutter stop my breathing.

"She is the only girl I loved." His head vowed, close his eyes and sigh.

In our situation now, I don't know what do to him. I just patted his shoulder of my free hand. But I froze when he suddenly turn his body and pull me for an embrace.

My eyes widen and think either to respond on his hug or just let him hug me without any respond.

I can feel the tension on his body. The hug tells everything. When I try to move, he tighten the hug and hold my head resting on his chest.

"Just let me hug you." He mumble and bare his head to my neck.

All the over thinking on my head ease and my hand slowly move around his waist. We stay like that for I don't know how long. Until he move slowly to release me.

"I am sorry, I just need that." Chase said when he let me go. "When I saw her yesterday, all the feelings before came back and I don't know how to handle it." He hold again my hand and play with my fingers.

"Why you can't call her in her name now?" I asked him absent minded.

"I just can't, don't ask anymore." He snap and stand hastily pulling me with him again.

I didn't protest on what he said and acted, I just roll my eyes. After the sweet moment or whatever you want to call it, he's back on his mantra.

As I take a glance at his face while we're walking to the park and he is looking around. The Chase I knew is back, the hard one. The no-sweet thing.

"Where are we going?"

"Have you heard me. I said don't ask me anymore." He's voice are full of demand.

"Oh! welcome back." I inhale and smirk.

He smirk back. "Did I go somewhere?" he ask blatantly

"You have the right to ask, and I don't?" I glare at him.

"Do you forgot I am the Team leader?" He asked back.

"Oh shut up Chase." rolling my eyes again

A small smile tagged on his lip.

We walked around the park and I can admit to my self that I enjoy it, but not to Chase. Maybe he can assumed about it.

We help push the swings with the children. Chase put a boy named Alex on his shoulder and run around the playground. He usually laugh at them, but then glare at me if he caught me laughing at them. They also made Chase pay on the ice cream they got.

After the tour around the park he ask me if I want to eat when we enter one of the store. We order burger, fries and shake.

looking at the food made my stomach grumble, so without hesitation I devour the food in front of me.

A burp says that I am a full. Thanks God for the food.

Chase laugh on my action and shake his head. "It is a delight watching you eat Skye." He said with his mouthful of fries.

I laugh too, "Sorry about that. This is what you get if you're surrounded by boys ."

"It would appear so. But you're cool that them." He grab his shake and sip. Then suddenly a burp that sounds like a cow rang on his throat.

I throw my head back laughing at him. "That's gross" the tears of laughter are on my eyes.

All the people around us are looking with a disgust expression on their face and some are laughing too. But most of the girls are giggling.

"I'll go out now." I pull the table napkin on my lap and put it on the table then walk to the door.

"Wait!" He shout and following me outside. "Are you ashamed of me?" he asked reaching my hand and pulling me beside him when we got outside.

I struggle to hold my smile but a snore slid my mouth. And then I shook my head. "No! bastard."

Chase stiffen beside me and let go of my hand. The happiness on his face fades away suddenly and he is avoiding eye contact. "Lets go home." He said with a small serious voice.

What happened? Did I say something? "Chase?" He doesn't even give a damn to look at me.

We walk, me behind him. He didn't gave me another glance or talk to me anymore till we reach NIPD look out.
