C A L U M H O O D

I called Sarah as soon as possible, right after making sure Ashton was okay. But maybe I was wrong for calling her that instant with the fact that she only got rest for only like five hours.

Ashton collapsed earlier. When we were talking in the foyer, just having some fun about Michael's already blonde hair and this thing.

This thing.

We were used to Ashton being all jokes but this one wasn't funny at all. This thing, this acting like he doesn't know his wife.

Now she was staring at him again, the only difference was he was awake and kicking and well... he doesn't know her name. At the same spot, same face but this time, she had puffy red eyes. Still wet and about to cry now.

I came over her. Luke and Michael decided to not come home since Ashton still got some issues that's needed to get taken care of. They were out, probably heading to some past food chain or pizza parlor anywhere, in London then would head to the hotel to take some clothes to change into.

Meanwhile the person by my side was thunderstrucked, still couldn't believe that she was the only one he had forgotten; babbling about how she deserved it because she was the reason after all. "You think he'd come back?" She asked, having a weak smile across her face.

The doctor said there's a chance and that it would be good not to force him to remember her just yet. "Maybe after a few more hours she could talk to him.", the doctor said.

"The doctor said you could talk to him. Maybe at 3 o'clock in the afternoon." I informed her, although I know that she knew this.

"I'm afraid. How could I? I don't even know how to start." She said, crossing her arms to her chest and sat straight.

"You should try. This is the cliché amnesia that we've seen a lot on movies. The ones that mostly matters are the ones that's mostly forgotten. You should know how to deal with this." I said, crossing my legs. It was contagious. She was contagious.

"How's the relationship going? Did you inform Bry?," it was so sudden I didn't know how to react. "Did she know, Cal?"

"I haven't talked to her but I assume our manager managed it.," looking at her, sideways, she seemed alright and it didn't feel right for me. "Let the professionals handle the work. Let's focus on how to make Ashton remember you."

She sighed so loud and hard that it caught Ashton's attention that lead me to give him an awkward smile and a small wave. His dimples and teeth showed then went back to talking with Harry. "He looked at us. Too bad you were looking down."

Observing him, he didn't seem to lie or act and it was never his thing. But Ashton, how could you forget your wife? The most important living thing on earth for you. You once said, I'm breathing for her, well I guess you only knew her because the heart never forgets.

"I want to hug him." She muttered, hugging a pillow for a substitute. "I want to squeeze him so tight that his eyeballs would come out and say sorry."

"You could ask him for it. Let's see if he'd let you." I suggested. I knew it was a ridiculous one but I didn't know how to respond. How to ease the urge and longing for someone that's infront you. Seeing by your own eyes and breathing the same air but couldn't remember your name.

"Its like asking for a kiss with some stranger. Would you?" Why did she always has to ask me? This woman. Seriously was driving me insane.

"I don't think I would." I flatly, honestly respond.

"Then, he won't as well."

I could see that Ashton was getting affected by her aimed staring because he would frequently touch the back of his neck and he'd look at the corner of his eyes. "You want to grab some snacks?," I offered to get Ashton out of her uncomfortable staring. "Its only 10 o'clock."

"I thought Michael and Luke..."

"Whatever. I'm hungry, come with me." I stated and leaned forward to take her hand. She didn't protest so I guess it was okay, but little did I know and a little bit too late that I shouldn't have took her from there. I should've let her stay there for Ashton to be familiar with her existence.

"Do not stare at Ashton like that." The elevator door tinged opened and we got in.

"What? Why?" She sounded confused.

"You do not stare at people like that. He was feeling uneasy of you I think." I respond, span to her direction a little to have a glimpse of her reaction. "What's your favorite food?"

"What? That's irrelevant but, uhm, spaghetti. I guess."

"You were like looking at a spaghetti. Something like that."

She became quiet and serious, "He's my favorite person in this world. How could he forget me?"

4th floor.

"He was the reason why I studied drums and arts. We jammed in the house like there were live concerts. How could he forget those?"

3rd floor.

"He was the one I've spent my first ever day on Louvre Museum and sneaked in there to do my thesis. How could he..."

2nd floor.

"He took me from our house and made me feel like I'm the only woman he have seen and asked for a marriage then how could..."

1st floor.

"He's Ashton Irwin. My husband. How..."

Could you please tell me how to comfort women in times like this? When she started to break down, as cliché as it sounds, into million pieces, that's how I think she really felt. When she was hysterically shaking and crying. When she was almost getting hiccups because she was crying too much. When in times I really hate to see women cry.

"Stop. Do not cry. I honestly don't want seeing someone cry because I cannot do anything about it." I said, crossing my arms from my chest. "He can get through it. Trust yourself Sarah. He will remember you again."

I noticed that she didn't had a handkerchief because she was wiping tears away using only her hands. I stretched my arms and gave her my spare one. "Thanks. I'll give it back after I wash it. And do not tell me its a gift. I will give it back as well as Michael's."

How could a crybaby be like this? So cold.

"I was about to say it. Oh well, seems like you're unstoppable now. So.. Where to?"
