You were sitting at your desk and chewed on one of your pens while your eyes wandered to the desk opposite to yours. Spencer's head was buried in one of the files he was currently working on and didn't seem to realize that you were basically staring at him since at least five minutes.

But you just couldn't help yourself, he was so handsome and you were in love with him since a year. Of course, you had been too shy and insecure to tell him, although you two spent quite a lot of time together. You always sat next to each other on the jet, you had similar interests in movies and books and in general got along well. But you couldn't be quite sure that he saw more in you than just a friend and colleague.

"Hey, sunshine!" You winced as you heard a voice right behind you. It was Derek who had come over, a huge grin on his face. "Oh, hi", you murmured and then grabbed a new file to finally work again. You couldn't stare at Spencer all the time.

"Why don't you tell him?", Derek asked. "What?" Your heart was pounding faster. "Why don't you tell him about your feelings for him?", Derek said. Oh, damn. You sighed. You had thought that it hadn't been obvious that you were in love with Spencer. But it seemed like you had been wrong.

"I...I can't", you murmered and glanced over to Spencer again. He was still concentrated on the file in front of him. "Come on, how do you want to find out about his feelings if you don't tell him?" Derek really didn't seem to give up. You leaned back in your chair. "Well, mister date doctor or whatever I should call you, don't you have any work to do?" You raised an eyebrow. Derek let out a loud laugh, what made all your other colleagues look up from their work.

"Oh, just leave!", you exclaimed and boxed against Derek's shoulder. The agent went away, still chuckling. You turned around on your chair, just to look into Spencer's eyes. He was looking over to you, a slight smile on his lips. You smiled back and then buried your face in the file in front of you. You had to stop thinking about Spencer and starring at him all the time. Derek already knew what was going on with you and you didn't want the whole team to know. Not as long as you couldn't be sure that Spencer had feelings for you too.

"Hey, would you mind to go get donuts and some other coffee than the one here in the office?" You looked up from your work when you heard Spencer's voice. He had leaned down to you and talked quietly. The smell of his aftershave woke up the butterflies in your stomach. "Uhm...sure", you said, stood up and grabbed your coat. It happened that from time to time Spencer, who drank liters of coffee, couldn't see the one they had at work and went to get something from the coffee shop near.

So you followed your colleague out of the office, glad you could catch a breath of fresh air. "So...how's it going with your paper work?", Spencer asked as he put his hands into the pockets of his pants. You shrugged. "It could be better", you confessed. "Why's that so?" You felt his eyes on you, but you didn't look up. You just shrugged. "I'm having trouble concentrating. But after some coffee, I'm sure it'll be better." Now you looked up to him after all.

Spencer smiled at you. "Same", he simply said as you both entered the coffee shop. It was quite late already, so there weren't many people. "What do you want?", Spencer asked while you stood in front of all the cheesecakes, donuts and muffins. All you could think of was that you were in love with Spencer and wanted to tell him to find out what he felt for you. How could you choose some food right now? You frowned while you looked at all the cakes.

"I'll...take the lemon muffin", you finally decided. Spencer took one of the donuts and after you both had your coffee, you left again. On the way back to the bureau, you didn't talk. You drank from your coffee and were lost in your own thoughts. Until you reached the front door of the building. You stopped abruptly and turned to Spencer. "Spence...", you started. You had just decided, before you'd enter the office again, you needed to tell him. It had been a year and you had been such a coward all the time. This had to end.

"Yeah?" He looked at you frowning now. You cleared your throat and clasped your fingers around your coffee to go. "Have you ever thought about...like...us?" The words had escaped your mouth faster than you could have thought and you saw Spencer's eyes widen. Oh god, you thought, he doesn't feel the same. I fucked up.

"I...I actually do."

"What?" His words pulled you out of your thoughts and you winced. "Yeah, I...I actually do think about us. Way too often, to be honest", Spencer said and although there was barely light, you could see him blush. "I...I have feelings for you, Y/N, okay? You're more than a friend to me, but..." Now it was him that shrugged.

"And I thought you wouldn't have the same feelings as me", you whispered and made a step closer to Spencer. He smiled at you. "I think we were both too shy and too much of cowards to tell each other, right?" You nodded and allow him to grab your waist and pull you closer. You almost let fall your coffee when you suddenly felt his warm lips on yours. Finally. You would have to thank Derek for encouraging you later. Or maybe not today anymore. The team didn't have to know yet. You just wanted to enjoy those feelings with Spencer first without anyone else knowing.
