She could never do anything right, could she?

Her circle (more of mess) of thoughts were interrupted by the sound of a text notification, which she checked because who would text her at 10 PM?

Kim Taehyung

Tae-Tae: Irene, check your window.

She widened her eyes, before slowly walking to the window, who appeared Taehyung on the tree by her window, grinning.

She opened the window before whispering, "What are you doing here? How'd you find our dorm so fast when I just told you the address yesterday?"

He grabbed her right hand, indicating what he wanted from her. She sighed, patting his head and ruffling his hair as she waited patiently for a reply.

"You looked down earlier so I came here to cheer you up! Your new dorm isn't that far away compared to your old dorm anyways." He rubbed his cheek against her palm, softly purring in satisfaction like a cat, except he was more like a dog.

"You didn't need to. I'm fine, Taehyung. You can go home now, it's getting late." as she walked away from him, only to have him pull her back by her wrist.

"Irene, I know your leg hurts. I've been watching you the whole evening, do you think I wouldn't notice?"

"If I said yes, what would you do?"

"Something I been wanting to do for a long time."

"Go home? Okay, then yes. I thought no one would notice, listen it's really not a big dea-" before getting interrupted by his arm grabbing her over his shoulder, climbing out the window slowly.

"Taehyung! Get me back up in my room right now! What are you doing? My members are going to worry."

"Bringing you to my apartment, duh! It's a big deal to me, so tell me everything that worries you, or else I'll drop you right now."

She blushed at the thought of going to his apartment for some strange reason before tightening her grip on his back as he closed her window.

She buried her face on his shoulder before mumbling, "I'm such a disappointment. Everyone expected me to be in the gymnastics for Idol Star Athletics Championships and now I screwed it up with my mistake. I can't do anything right, I hate myself so much." as she let the tears she's been holding back trail down her cheeks onto the soft grey cotton sweater he has on.

He whispered something amongst the lines of, "Hold on." He climbed down the tree, with her tears falling along with them.

They stood up as she tried to run away to the front door, but he grabbed her arm and hugged her, stopping her from continuing any of her plans.

He guided her to his grey car, still having a tight grip on her waist. She looked up as she felt his thumb wipe off her tears, before kissing each side of her face and forehead.

"Now that wasn't so hard to admit, was it? You're perfect to me, Irene. You're not a disappointment, you're the most beautiful masterpiece I have ever laid my eyes on. Now, let's go."

She softly murmured, "Why?"

He stopped in his tracks, replying. "Why? Because I care, I care for you."

She didn't understand, asking one more time. "Why... Do you care for me? I mean, we're friends and all but there are limits to caring."

He hesitated but gathered his courage up to say the words he's been wanting to say for years.

"Irene, it's because I love you. I always have and always been in love with you, ever since I laid my eyes on you."

With those words, he took her away in the starry night, away from the world and into their own, creating their own masterpiece on the canvas laid out for the two and the two only.
