NIPD: Team Alpha

Ryder

We all ride the elevator up to the top floor with silent.

Top floor is as breath taking like the other floor, you can see the entire Adventure Bay. Aside from the huge screen in front and a Table with eight leather seats and six box on top of the table.

The room is empty and there's no sign of Ryder inside as we push our self in the middle of the room.

"Can we seat?" Rocky mumble as he walk towards one of the seat and made him self comfortable.

We all take our seat as Chase seat on the Middle side, Marshall and Rubble on his left. Rocky, Zuma and Me on his right.

After a while with so much talking of Rocky, Rubble and Marshall, we heard the ping of the elevator and Ryder show.

We all stand and salute.

"Ready for action Ryder, Sir." Chase said with full of power and confidence on his deep voice.

Ryder nod "At ease." with his own authoritative voice.

We all take our hands in our forehead.

"Take your seat team, we have a plan to make." He utter as he make his way in front of us near to the huge TV.

"Welcome to Adventure Bay's NIPD Look out." He start and press something on a remote and the TV screen lights as it shows the revolving NIPD logo. "I am Your commandant, Commander Ryder. I already met the three of you and not yet the other. To make it proper please tell me your name. Lets start from your left."

"Marshall"

"Rubble"

"Chase"

"Rocky"

"Zuma"

"Skye"

We all shout, one after the other.

"The NIPD Team Alpha of Adventure Bay. I know you already know or who is our mayor, but let me show you." He click again the remote and a picture show of an early fifty year-old, brown headed woman,tanned skin and  wearing blue dress with red sling bag and holding a.....Chicken? A white hen actually.

I turn to look at the others and they are staring at the same picture as with me, they have same expression written on their faces like mine except Chase. He is expecting this, i presume.

"Yes, guys." Ryder got our attention as he noticed our expression. "You are not wrong. That is hen." He's smiling too, looking at the picture. "Mayor Margaretta Goodway and her hen Chickaletta." He point the chicken on the screen. "Pet of the Mayor as they say."

We all look at Ryder who are looking at us intently.

Who the heck wants a chicken to be her pet? I can have dog or cat but not chicken.

"Team look, you may think the mayor is insane having a chicken as her pet. But, hey, we all have the right to choose what ever pet we want right?" He shake his head "No, don't look at me like that." He mumble as we all glare at him is disgust. "And Don't look at our Mayor like that if you meet her."

Now our expression changed as he says those words. We are now confuse and all.

"Yes, you will meet the Mayor three days from now. Because if there will not any emergency that will come in our way, our first assignment is to secure the area of the convention center where the inauguration of the new statue of the former Mayor Andrew Goodway -the father of our current mayor- is three days from now." Ryder took his seat in front of us and lean his back to the chair.

"Okay sir, noted." Chase is the first who recover from the words that came from Ryder.

This is our first mission, to secure the inauguration.

"We will plan what to do and how we will do that." Ryder puts his arms on the table.

"Every time there's a gathering in City Hall there are always threats. You must be aware of that. Mayor Goodway and his security team are sending us the text messages and letters of the threat." Ryder turn his chair to face the screen and click the remote. There are lots of messages that are not good words shows on the screen. Including Bombs, explosions, killings, fires and some harsh words.

"With all the threat commander, is there anything happened?" Chase ask.

We all nod as we want to know also the answer.

Ryder turn to us again and shake his head. "The most serious and really happened is that Mayor Andrew Goodway was killed after the oath taking  for his second term." With a sad face Ryder told us the whole story. "And because her daughter is the mayor now, she gave him a tribute with all his good deeds. Mayor Andrews has been good mayor. The perfect one as they all say. And now her daughter too."

I look again at the screen and saw one of the message their is someone wants to kill the good mayor of Adventure Bay, that she must be aware and take care of her self.

"What do you think is the reason they want to kill the Mayor?" the words slide from my mouth without me noticing it. I just want to know. If the mayors are good to their people, why someone wants them dead?

They look at me except Chase who I think want to know also the answer. He is looking to Ryder like me.

"That's the mission we need to know team. As I remember Hawk told me that you are one of the best team they have this year. So I am expecting a great job, do you understand?" Ryder stand, hold his two hand the both side of the table and lean to us as he said that.

I look around the table and the others are looking to the team too and nod As we all nod and say together "Yes, Ryder, Sir."

Ryder smile "Okay, Team, good. But before we can make the mission, you need to familiarized the places of Adventure Bay. It is not to big. So go out and have some fun. I'll let Everest know to accompany you."

As the name of the beautiful girl who welcomed us yesterday I look at Chase and witness how he tense up, but he cover it with a nod.

"And before you leave, open the box in front of you, your data from the camp are already installed there. The Pink one is for Skye, blue for Chase, Red for Marshall, green for Rocky, Yellow for Rubble and orange for Zuma."

We all look to the box in front of us, they are colored like what Ryder said, so I reach the pink box and open to see what's inside it.

He explain the gadget in front of us and arrange his chair as he walk to the door

"You're dismiss." as he reach the -not the elevator- door beside it.

We all go out via elevator together straight to our floor.
