A young man

One young man with a family,

Was, by violence, led away,

One young man with a daughter,

Died in Kenya today.

That young man was respected,

People thought the world of him,

But now he feels nothing,

Apart from the cold wood he lies in.

A young man died today, it's true,

That young man had a name,

That young man had a family,

But that young man has no fame.

His death be soon forgotten,

But no, not by his wife.

She must now live alone,

Through pain, distraught and strife.

Now a poem can be powerful,

But no poem can portray,

The meloncholy sadness,

Towards the young man that died today.

I can write down all the fancy words,

To make you feel my pain,

I'll implant things like despondent,

deep down into your brain.

But really, people give no second thought,

To the words that you can see,

Towards the man that once did live,

Serving his ungrateful country.

So comment down your prayers for him,

For respect that won't go away,

Because over in war in Kenya,

Staff Seargent Grant died today.
