Amber's POV

"So 'servant's door, is the back door, exit it' is pretty obvious, don't you think?" I look around at my friends. I focus on Connor as he starts talking.

"Yeah, we find the door that servants would use and go out of it. They really didn't need three lines to say that. Only problem is, how will we even know what door is the right one?"

"It might be in the kitchen or have servants carved in the wood. One thing for sure, is that it's on the first floor." Crystal explains.

"I think I saw a door in one of the passageways while we were down there. All the doors were on one side except for one. So maybe that's the one!"

"All in favor say aye!" I shout excitedly. We're getting so close to figuring this out. Sure, I

couldn't care less in the beginning, but this is kinda fun. A chorus of 'ayes' ring through the air as we get up and go to find the door that my sister was talking about.

When we find the door we walk straight through and lean (or in my case sit) against the castle wall to look at the next part of the riddle.

"'And follow the natural path, through the meadow' so, maybe find a path of growth in the meadow?" Crystal suggests gesturing to the field of flowers before us.

The meadow before us had bice green grass and carmine pink roses, patriarch purple tulips, canary yellow poppies, and folly red lilacs. All the stems seemed to be napier green. A single row of capri blue larkspur runs through the mass of flowers.

"Hey, guys. The riddle says to follow the natural path, right?" I have to make sure. Connor's the first to answer.

"Yeah. Do you have an idea?"

"Do you guys see those blue flowers?" I start. "Because they form a path leading away from here." I notice my friends and my sister all looking towards the flowers. My sister responded to this discovery by turning around and banging her head against the stone wall (we're too surprised to stop her).

"Why" bang "didn't" bang "I" bang "see" bang "that!" one last bang before turning back around and sliding down the wall next to me. Her head's not bleeding, but it's probably going to develop a bruise. Out of all the things I know about plants, I have no idea how to create a medicine for anything really.

We all get up and follow the trail of larkspur across the meadow. I slowly start to notice that it's getting hotter and hotter. The last few times this happened- Oh no.

"Um, guys. Please tell me that it's just my imagination and it's not getting any hotter, at all." I ask timidly.

"And here I was hoping it was just me." My sister looks over to me with a panic stricken face.

"Don't look now, but the fire column found us and it's not exactly contained in one spot anymore." We all turn around at Connor's observation. The fire column is the same as ever, but it's allowing things to catch on fire so it spreads faster.

"Translation: run!" Crystal shouts in a panic.

"Hey Connor?" I ask still running along the trail of larkspur.

"Yeah?"

"Next time you don't want someone to look-"

"Don't say, don't look!" All three of us girls scream at once. I think I heard a whimper come from Connor though.

"What was the next part Crystal!" Ruby asks.

"Uh, 'under the bridge, will be your next clue'!"

"Canyon!" I scream pointing to the giant crevasse ahead where everything just drops off.
