We spend most of the journey sat in silence. Oliver was concerntraiting on negotiationg his way along the roads whereas I am too busy browsing social media for no apparent reason.

After sitting in silence for over an hour, I decide to connect my phone to the speakers in the car. I load up a song on youtube and click play.
I look over at Oliver and smiled. The song I had chose was a cover of Titanium by David Guetta and I knew It would lighten the mood.
I am just about to change the song when I felt a tap on my knee. I glance up and smile at Oliver.

"So, Mum and Dad have so many people coming. They have to cook for at least 50 people. Dad has invited his friends from london along with Alice. She is bringing a few friends, well, She said she is bringing a friend Emma and she is bringing her brother. I think his name was Tom?? He's about 5 years older than you."

He smiles miscievously. I know now there is a stupid comment in the making.
"But he will want to hang out with me... I'm not likely to spill my drink on him" He chuckles softly and taps the steering wheel with his thumbs.

"That was one time!!" I giggle to myself and look down to my phone. No messages at all..
But as I am about to text my parents, we pull up to a long stone drive way. I look up at the house and smile.
There are balloons near the door on strings and bunting along the porch roof, wrapped around the collums that support it.

I step out of the car and place my bag on my shoulder, closing the door. I knock on the door and smile to myself as I hear giggling behind the door, followed by soft whispers.
The door is pulled open by one of the girls and I look down at them smiling. It takes them a second to realise who it is before she screams "B IS HERE!!" to all the other girls who were gathered in the living room. I brace myself and step inside before being pounced on by four smiling girls, all in matching pink and white dresses.

I share around hugs and pull out a bag of sweets from my handbag. I pass them to the eldest, Skye, and watch them all skip off down the hall.

Walking into the kitchen, I spotted my Mum and Dad rushing around with plates in their hand. My Dad spots me in the doorway and gasps.

"Sweetheart!! You finally made it!" He glances at his watch and back at me. "Only 1 hour late this time! A new record!" He throws his arms around me and kisses my cheek.

I take my time to say my hello's before picking up a tray of drinks to take to the garden.
I really shouldn't be trusted with carrying glasses...
