One Night (Interracial Romance)

Birthday Girl!

Closing my eyes I drift off and think about this morning. 

*Flashback*

  "Jackie wake-up!" my girl Shannon screamed in my ear. "What the hell are you doing here?" I asked her. "Girl don't act like you aren't happy to see me." she waved me off and walked to my window and open the curtains

"Ahh I'm blind!" 

  "Oh please stop whining, if you had woken up when I called you then you wouldn't be in this predicument right now!" Shannon told me. "How did you even get in here? I know I locked my door last night." she just laughed "I have my ways Jackie" she said smirking. "Well please just go away I would like to continue with my sleeping that you rudely interupted!" I hissed at her. 

  "Jackie it is your 23rd birthday! I will NOT allow you to just sleep the day away! I understand that you are still hurting from your break up with Mr. Ass, but it is time to move on! You barely leave the house, you only go out for work and groceries. I can also see that you getting a little thick from all this laziness, but its okay because you are finally getting an ass. Jackie you know I love you we've been best friends since middle school, but you can not just be laying around. Don't let him win by not doing anything and still being stuck on him." she sighed and sat at the foot of my bed. 

  I sat up agianst my headboard and looked out my window.

   "I guess you're right, but it just hurts so much I loved him and gave him my all, then he just cheats on me without a care in the world." I began to tear up so Shannon walked the to bed, got in and just held me for a few mintues. We just sat there in silence but it was a comfortable silence. "This is why I have the perfect plan!" Shannon said getting excited. She got off my bed and walked to her purse. 

  "Now you know my motto 'The best way to get over a guy is to get under one.' So that is what you are going to do!" She pulled out two pieces of paper "We're going to Vegas bitch!" she screamed and my mouth just dropped. 

  "Shannon you know what happen last time we went to Vegas." 

   The last time we went to Vegas was for my 21st birthday. That was a fun night, but I woke up cuddled up with this guy on a pool table in his room and Shannon was still in the casino playing. I don't remember much about that night, but from what I do remember it was one of the best nights of my life. I actually met my ex Ryan there, he's a promoter/ DJ in Vegas helping out his friend at a club. We met and just hit it off, he was the guy I was cuddled up with on the pool table. He lived in L.A. and I lived in San Diego, we only lived an hour away from eachother and after a year of being together he asked me to move in. I was so happy that we were taking the next step in our relationship. Anyways fast forward 2 more year we were doing fine, at least that's what I thought until I came home early from work to surprise him for his birthday. Except I was the one that was surprised when I found him in our bed with the neighbor that he told me I shouldn't worry about because he had his eyes all on me. That was obviously a lie, when I caught them I didn't even say anything I took a quick picture and left. I waited till he left the apartment and went back in packed my stuff and left to go back to San Diego. Shannon let me stay with her until I got my own place, and luckily for my job I was able to transfer to the San Diego branch.

   Ryan tried calling and texting me, acting all worried. I sent him the picture I took and he quickly started apologizing. It's not like it was his first time either, when we first started dating some girl came up to me saying she was pregnant with his baby. Turns out she was lying, but it still but a wedge between us. I was stupid enough to take him back, but I will not be stupid again. 

  "Well things are going to be different this time! Don't fall for a guy, and bring him back. What happen in Vegas stays in Vegas, right?" she pulled me out of the bed and pushed me to my bathroom. 

  "Now go get ready our flight is in 3 hours!" she yelled slapping my ass.

*End of Flashback*

"Jackie wake up, we're here." Shannon whispered while pushing me. "Come on sleepy head, we have to rush to pick up our rental."

 I started getting up, Shannon handed me my suitcase, and we exist the plane to get our rental. The weather in Vegas was beautiful, hopefully the rest of the week will be great!
