Mark and I have been doing so good for the past week. The only people who knows about us are Callie and Lexie because I know Meredith and Derek will freak out. Today I was gonna be in the ER working with Lexie and Meredith and Lexie gets all awkward when she's keeping secrets. There was a trauma coming in and Lexie, Meredith and I were waiting for the ambulance.
"So what's going on with you and Mark Sloan?" Meredith asked I looked over and Lexie who looked very nervous.
If it were up to me I'd tell Meredith and tell her I didn't care about her opinion but Mark is afraid to tell Derek.
"Nothing why?" I replied.
"You've been on his service for weeks" Meredith said.
"I'm really interested in plastics" I said.
"Yeah she likes faces and stuff a lot" Lexie said laughing nervously.
"Okay?" Meredith said giving her a weird look then the ambulance pulled in.
I spent most of my day in the pit with Meredith and Lexie we didn't have anything surgical today which was pretty boring. Lunch finally came around and Meredith went off to find Derek while Lexie and I went to the cafeteria. I looked around and saw that Mark was sitting alone and neither Meredith or Derek were around so I went and sat next to him.
"What are you doing?" Mark asked and looked around for Meredith and Derek of course.
"We sleep together we're gonna eat together" I said and then Lexie came and sat down with us.
After Lexie sat down all of her intern friends came walking over.
"Oh sweet Dr. Sloan and Dr. Avery you let interns sit with you!" One of them said happily and sat down along with the rest of them.
"Oh my god" Mark said under his breath and he looked annoyed.
"Dr. Sloan and Dr. Avery don't let interns sit with them unless that intern is Lexie Grey so move!" I snapped and the interns quickly got up and ran off but so did Mark.
"Where are you going?" I asked but he just ignored me.
"Sorry that's all my fault" Lexie said and I shook my head.
"No Lexie it's not I think he's just afraid of people finding out he still hasn't told Derek and you know I haven't told Meredith" I said and Lexie gave me a small comforting smile.
"If Meredith and Derek can't accept you and Mark's relationship then they aren't that good of friends" Lexie said and I nodded.
"You're right I better go talk to Mark I'll see you later" I said then paged Mark to meet me in an on call room.
I walked into the on call room and Mark gave me a smile.
"Hi" he said.
"I don't want to keep secrets anymore" I blurted out.
"What?" Mark said with a confused look.
"I've always had to keep secrets and the you secret is one I don't want to keep anymore this relationship that we're in if we are in one is one I need to be in, in front of my best friend and you should want to be in it in front of your best friend too because I can tell Meredith and she'll probably be mad for a little but I can deal with that if you can't deal with telling Derek that I can't be with you" I said and left the room.
I guess I'll find out how much I actually mean to Mark when I find out whether he tells Derek or not. I just hope he makes the right decision.
