"Yeah, they look like siblings," he tilted his head towards the kids, as he spoke, bring her attention to the subjects in attention.
"Don't dodge the question Ian, you know what I'm trying to say," Kelly sounded irritated with his nonchalant statement.
"Oh, do I know now?" He asked, raising an eyebrow at her. He started walking towards the water.
She shrugged mentally. She weighted her ready response, but decided otherwise. It's a waste trying to make the dog tail straight and he was twisted. She chuckled at her comparison and focused her gaze on their previous topic of discussion. As she saw, Samantha was making Sean's life a hell lot difficult by showing off her skill with surfing. Such a sports-spoil-prat.
After watching in for a few minutes, silence started bothering her. Her eyes fell on Nathan, who was trying to impress a group of small kids with some ball tricks. Averting her eyes back on Ian, she decided to ponder on the topic she had come here to talk about.
"So, have you decided on my offer," Kelly asked.
"Still confuse, should I set my hand on fire or should I just plain put my hands on it," he sounded disconcert.
"You mean to say, you're thinking of the second option," Kelly was bemused at his audacity.
"Something like that, yeah," he affirmed.
"Have you kept your brain back at your office?" Kelly scorned. "You're perplexing a subject plain in itself."
Ian smiled and shrugged, diadainly.
"I mean, who does that," Kelly exclaimed.
Ian smile got bigger at her incredulity, before he spoke. "Besides, I already have all the necessary help," he announced and crossed his hands over his chest as if he had said something that need a pat on his back.
Patting, oh yeah, he did get, but a shove at his shoulder. Kelly punched him, but started cursing a few words when her hand hurt after the blow. He laughed at her, but it was short lived as an unexplained occurrence baffled everyone.
An ear piercing scream, a loud 'no' and a jaw locking gasp from the onlookers, provided the wheels under Ian's feet to run faster towards Samantha.
Before the second hand of the watch completed one round, he was at her disposal.
Ian looked around in search of Sean, but he was not to be seen.
"Dive in and find Sean," he instructed Jake, who had followed him after.
Jake nodded and dived in. As an expert surfer, it was handy in situations like this
Ian pulled the unconscious Samantha out of the water and held her close to inspect the damage from the surfing board.
"Is she alright?" A male voice echoed his ears and Ian looked up to the source of the voice. That person seemed concerned about the unexpected accident. Ian realized that his face looked familiar, but he couldn't put a name to it. But it was not time to reek the brain about it.
"What happened?" Ian was on the brim of his anger. He doesn't know how he had managed to have a lid on his words. He didn't trust his own wits from smacking this guys face to an unrecognizable junk. So he kept Samantha close as he addressed the culprit behind this.
"I didn't know.....I'm sorry, it was an accident. I...I didn't see her coming." The other guy voice was trembling with untoward damage from his extravagant action.
Ian didn't respond to his apologies as he was more concerned about Samantha's safety. Going by his instinct he pressed his first two fingers at the corner of her neck. When he felt the pulse appropriate, he ran his finger over her upper lips. Her shallowed breathing, brought a tide of relief over his tension-driven expression.
