Hello it's Elle here, this is my first time writing in a long time so hopefully it will go decently.

It was a coldish autumn day in Los Angeles and I was in line at the coffee shop clutching my mug. The leaves hadn't fallen off of the trees yet and it was still early enough in the day that everyone looked as if they had just woken up. I quickly paid for my drink and waited as the barista foamed the milk. During this time, I glanced out of the window and noticed the shop across the street for the first time. The front window was full of cameras and I had an idea. Once my coffee was ready, I headed towards the store that had caught my eye.
Until then I had worked a desk job as a software engineer. When I was younger it had been my dream job, but now I felt trapped in it. All I desired was to see a bit more of the world, but at that time it seemed as if I would be working my desk job forever.
It was a Saturday and I had no plans beyond giving my cat, Moon, a bath so I figured that it couldn't hurt to try something new. I returned to my home which was a relatively modest size, set my new purchase on the counter, and got to work washing Moon. After that it was time for the fun to begin. I quickly got to setting up the small video camera that I had purchased in the guest room and started filming.
I'd gone to a small but prestigious college and during my freshman year my roommate had convinced me to sign up for a beauty subscription box. It was then that I had gotten hooked on makeup. I would spend my days cramming in as much work as possible so that I could watch tutorials and try new looks at night. I had been broke while I was in college so I'd had to be creative with what I had. On that fateful Saturday, I decided to start with something I was comfortable with and film myself doing a simple makeup look.
Looking back, my first video was incredibly embarrassing, but it would set into motion a chain of events that improved my life for the better. Soon after I had released a few tutorials, I sprung for better guest room lighting. As I slowly gained more subscribers, I started earning money and sprucing up the guest room into a full fledged studio. Over the next few years I would fall into youtube stardom and quit my job as a software engineer.
