Chapter 7 - Date Night

Start from the beginning

I drove for around 10 minutes before reaching Carrie's house. I looked and the time read 6:56pm. I figured she'd be ready by now.

I got out of my truck and walked towards her front door. I knocked on the door and waited.

After a couple of seconds, Carrie opened the door and there she stood.

Wow. She looked like an angel. Carrie was wearing a long sleeved metallic patterned dress with silver heels. Holy smokes.

I looked at her and she had her purse in between her arms as she was putting on her last earring.

"Hi, I'll be ready in a minute, sorry." She blushed momentarily before fixing her hair one more time.

"It's not problem. You look so beautiful tonight, Carrie." I looked towards her and she was staring at the floor with a small smile.

I walked closer towards her and lifted her chin "I mean it, Care. You're stunning."

She smiled and looked in my eyes. "Thank you, Mike."

In that moment, I knew that I was falling for this woman hard and I hadn't even taken her out on a first date yet.

We walked towards the car and I ran towards the passenger door, so I could open it before she could.

"Oh wow, such a gentleman. Thank you, Mike." She gave me a quick smile before I shut her door and walked over to the other side of the car to the driver's seat.

"So, where are we going?" She asked with a wide grin on her face. I couldn't help but laugh at her cuteness.

"You're like a big kid aren't ya, I'm taking you out for a nice dinner first before the surprise." I conceded and finally told her the half of my plans for tonight. I turned on the radio and started driving.

"I like a man who knows how much I love my food." She said before jamming along to the radio. I couldn't help but laugh at this woman sitting beside me.

Every once in a while I would find myself just looking at her beauty while driving. And sometimes she'd catch me and up blushing, before telling to keep my eyes on the road.

After around 20 minutes of driving we got to the restaurant. I went to the passengers car and helped her get out of the truck. I held out my arm for her to hold on to, before making our way into the restaurant.

"Reservation for 2, under the name Fisher." I said towards the waiter.

"Of course, right this way."

CARRIE'S POV:

The waiter led us in the opposite way to where all the other were sitting. Instead he took us upstairs and led us into a room.

I couldn't help but gasp at how beautiful it was. The room was lit by candles and had a skylight that let us see the night sky.

"Mike..." I whispered "it's beautiful." I looked towards him.

"A beautiful date for a beautiful lady." He winked.

"Now you're just being cheesy." I joked before laughing. The waiter led us to our tables and sat us down before taking our orders.
