My first stop is the pack house, I need to speak with Cole immediately. Hopping out of my car once parked, I grab Leah from the back, people nodding at me in respect. I smile at my fellow pack members as I pass them by.

Entering the pack house whilst Leah tugs at my hair and shoves it into her mouth, my inner wolf purrs in content knowing her pup is safe with me. I walk towards where I know the Alpha's office is, and push open the door. I am met with not Cole's scent, but someone else's. The chair turns around, revealing an aging Alpha with greying hairs lining his scalp as his large and bulky form occupies the alpha's chair.

"Alpha Edward" I say, shocked. He smiles at me and gets up, approaching my form as my wolf growls, wanting to come out for some odd reason even though he was our Alpha.

"Morgan Mayor, I have heard a lot about you. And they seem to be true." I look down at my pup, who smiles up at me.

"She will do well as a future Luna, it is a pity the circumstances though." I nod in agreement and look up at him.

"I was hoping to speak with Cole, do you have any idea where I could find him?" I swear I see anger flash through his silver eyes, but it disappears as soon as it came. Alpha Edward looks at me with pity, which angers my wolf.

"Oh, you didn't hear? Yes, Cole left a few months ago for training camp. He is supposed to return next year. A great amount of people were sent to training camp this year, many untrained fighters here, not good in case a war arises." My wolf whimpers inside my head and curls into a ball, while I am at the most shocked. No one told me, so it hurts as well, I thought Emily or Mom would have told me.

"I am sorry you had to find out this way Ms. Mayor. Especially since that little red headed friend of yours knew. And your mother." Alpha Edward rounds the dark wooded desk and takes a seat.

"That red head, what was her name? Emily right?" I nod and take a seat in front of the desk, adjusting Leah on my lap.

"She is a smart one. She was recently sent off to training for becoming a Luna, perhaps female Alpha." My eyes nearly pop out of my head. A female Alpha?

"What?" I ask softly. He chuckles.

"I arranged a marriage with an elderly Alpha in the pack next to us. The conditions were a young women who could manage the pack after his death, which isn't far away, and then bear an heir. Preferably a son, but a daughter is just as good." I stare at him in shock. He has completely changed the pack. My best friend has been sold as a bearer. Cole is at training camp, and no one told me anything. Why?

"Why did no one tell me about this?" He shrugs in response. I run my hand through my long hair as Leah begins playing with my fingers.

"I hate to cut this short Ms. Mayor, but I have some pack business to attend to." I nod at Edward and stand before quickly retreating from the building. I rush to my car and place Leah in her seat and buckle her up quickly before climbing in and speeding off to the house. I don't remember the drive clearly, just the emotions hitting me like a rip tide. This is my fault, this is all my fault. I am a horrible person, I have been since the night I met Cole. I blamed him, I shut him out, I was horrible to him, because I couldn't handle it. I should have been kind to him from the first day. I have been horrible to everyone. How can anyone stand me? I am a mean, selfish, just flat out horrible person that has caused so much drama from one night.

As I pull into the familiar driveway, I rest my head on the wheel. I pushed Cole away, and I hate myself for it. Cole will miss Leah's milestones, because of me. Cole will probably start a new life with a new girl, if he hasn't already. He deserves to be happy though. A life without me in it.
