Baekhyun couldn't believe his eyes.

There she lay on the cold, blood-stained floor. Covered in stab wounds, her mouth hanged wide open as saliva dripped down from her mouth and onto the ground.

As Baekhyun stared off into her lifeless body, all their memories together seemed to flash by his mind in a matter of seconds.
Chanyeol was proceeding to shower him in comfort, extending his arms from behind Baekhyun to the purpose of giving him a back hug. When he put his head on his shoulder, the pained, sorrowful expression of Baekhyun's face led him to breaking out into a big sob.
His expression screamed one thing and one thing only.

This is a dream.

Baekhyun broke down into a sob and fell backwards right into Chanyeol, quickly springing back up and running into the house.
Chanyeol swatted at the dirt on his pants and walked in shortly after, only to find Baekhyun sobbing on his mothers chest.

Baekhyun was alone.

And Chanyeol could only think of one thing he could do.

"Baekhyun, come live with me."

"You don't have to do that for me Chanyeol. I'm sure there are other people that would be willing to take m-"

"Nonsense. Please, come live with me. I won't take no for an answer."

2007

If there was one thing Chanyeol and Baekhyun liked to do, it was to explore the broad woods right in the back yard of their home.
They would spend countless hours wondering around aimlessly, and Baekhyun would always whistle whatever song was stuck in his head. Often, they found themselves staring up at the stars, eating the snacks they brought and cuddling up for warmth. They would go out at dawn and come back at dusk. There was not a day where they wouldn't come back covered in dirt.

"Chanyeol, look! It's the Big Dipper."

Chanyeol was busy staring deeply into Baekhyun's eyes, admiring the bright glow. Chanyeol was sure that they were the happiest pair in existence. Unbreakable.
Just taking a quick peek at them seemed to change his mood entirely. They reflected his joy off to anyone who witnessed them.

Chanyeol didn't know why, but his heart was racing.

"Chanyeol, let's walk back now. It's almost midnight. I told mom we'd be back by 12:30."

Chanyeol lets out a groan and stretches, in attempt to wake himself up.

"Now you tell me? We'll never make it back in time, dumbass."
