Let me restart. Keep it simple.
There's a boy. Most people would call him weird. Not the weird that gives him a cute character... But the weird that makes you uncomfortable. He gives little thought to it though, not believing that the perceptions of other people really affect his life in any way.
He relies on himself. If he has an issue he needs help with, he'll deal with it alone. If he faces a two-person job, he'll step away from it. If he needs another opinion, he asks himself. He's the person that everyone strives to be at certain points in their lives. Yet... he's alone. It may not seem like a big deal for him, but that's only 'cause he doesn't realize that his loneliness is the source of his pain.
Pain. Noun, (uncountable) mental or emotional suffering or torment.
Everyone feels it. He just pretends not to.
