I knew this case inside and out, the case had happened every year, same thief, same motive, but he new some new tricks. I would be the best detective on the force. Detective Craig Foreman is my name. But in these parts of the U.S., even being considered the best detective wasn't as great as being the best detective in the U.S., I would think that being in this part of town would be a break for a 5 year veteran in the detective industry. The thief was my worst enemy, he would take the joy out of winter by getting rid of the snow without a trace. Making this case the hardest one to by far to solve. But they don't call me the best detective for nothing. He was to predictable, eventually he would slip up and make a mistake. Just needed to know when. The next morning I got a lead to where the thief was, a witness saw him breaking into an abandoned warehouse, not sure why he would go to an abandoned warehouse.
I knew one thing though, he had to have had something in that warehouse, if he had a reason to break into it, there must have been some reason. I just hope I wasn't too late to stop him. I went to the abandoned warehouse and found chemicals stashed in big containers, like ones that could hold a gallon of chemicals, maybe used to make a serum. I could examine the evidence later, but I had to search the warehouse alone, too many police officers could draw too attention, causing the thief to flee, I knew what his plan was to do: to take all the snow in the whole town, sucking the joy out of the children. If I knew one thing, it's that I will never stop until the thief was brought to justice. I just hoped I got to the warehouse in time.
I found the thief in the warehouse I was in. I tried to sneak up behind the thief trying to catch him by surprise when I heard a chilling response.
"You really think you can sneak up on your own brother?"
"You know I couldn't do that, but you know I can still catch you"
"Is that so?"
The figure pulled a lever, next I knew I heard gears turning and something falling at great speed, it was a cage. I was trap. Never to get out, or so the thief thought."You'll never get out of that trap, I designed it myself. You can only get out with a key, like this one". He started to shake his key around, celebrating his cheap victory.
" You'll never get away with this, brother, I will break out of hear, track you down and bring you to justice." I yelled at him in a fit of rage.
"That's a nice dream, but we both know that you'll never catch me...," While his back was turned, I pick pocketed the key and unlocked the door quietly.
"I will take all the snow in Merry Mile, wait," just realizing that I was gone," Where did you go brother?" Said the thief.
I tapped his shoulder, then I swung my fist towards him, punching him right in the cheek. "Oh you wanna have a brawl, lets brawl then" Said my brother.
He threw a right hook at my face, I tried to dodge his fist, but it landed on the side of my neck. I had hoped he hadn't spent so much time in the gym, he tried to grab my head and knee me, but I was expecting that and slammed his head on a work bench that was right their. I knocked him out and dragged him to prison, and I knew that justice was served.
