Time's Running Out

Start from the beginning

When I finished, she picked up my used dishes and washed them in the sink. I had to admit, I was sort of happy to have company. "Chatty, how is Fred doing?" Chatty gave me a sad smile.

"Chatty thinks that Mister Weasley is very, very ill!" She said. "It made Chatty sad when she saw him." I let out a sigh.

"Mister Weasley is actually very ill." I whispered. "His time is unfortunately running out." I said. Chatty let out a cry and wiped tears from her large eyes. "Don't cry Chatty." I pleaded, already feeling tears sting my eyes.

"But isn't Mistress Malfoy sad?" Chatty asked. I nodded.

"I am sad. Very, very sad, but I do know that when Mister Weasley passes away, he'll be reunited with his true love." I told her. Chatty looked up at me. "Do you want to hear the story of Mister Weasley and Mistress Weasley?" I asked her. Chatty nodded her large head. I held out my hand for her and she took it. I lead her to the couch and I began to tell her my parent's story.

Uncle Harry, Ron and Aunt Hermione came over to the house towards the end of the story. They greeted me and immedietly went upstairs to Fred.

"So, there she stood in front of my brother, my father and me, and sacrificed herself, so that we could live. " I finished. "And that was the last I saw of my mother and her brave, heroic acts."

"Mistress Weasley sounds very brave!" Chatty cheered. I smiled at the happy house elf. "Does Mistress Malfoy miss Mistress Weasley?"

I nodded. "I do, she was such a brave person, and I aspire to be just like her." I replied. And then we lapsed into silence. Chatty swung her feet back and forth on the couch, and swung her head side to side.

"Does Mistress Malfoy have a job for Chatty?" She asked. I shrugged.

"Well, if you'd like, you can clean my room, I've been neglecting it lately.." My voice trailed off as Chatty disapearred up the stairs. For the second time that day, I was left alone. I walked up the stairs and entered my father's room. He was asleep, but there was a pained look etched onto his face. Harry, Ron and Hermione sat next to him on three chairs. Hermione's cheeks were tear stained.

"Hello Bella.." Uncle Ron said, his voice raspy. I nodded to him and walked to the opposite side of his bed. I ran my hand over his forehead, feeling the burning skin against my hand.

"His day's are numbered, aren't they?" I whispered. I felt the familiar sting in the corner of my eyes. I locked eyes with all three of them; Harry avoided eye contact, Ron just stared at his older brother, and Hermione slowly nodded. "I knew this was coming, but I didn't expect it to be so soon." I said, my voice trembling.

Hermione rushed over to my side, and hugged me tightly. i completely broke down again, letting the tears stain her shirt and she held onto my shaking body. She lead me out of the room and into my room, where Chatty was neatly fixing my bed. I couldn't stop the sobs that escaped from my mouth and I couldn't catch my breath as I continued crying.

Aunt Hermione rubbed my back as she tried to calm me down. "I-I've just b-been trying t-t-to be strong for so l-long! B-But I can't d-do it anymo-ore!" I cried. I let it all out. Every single bad feeling I had from the last couple of months were let out. All the time's I wanted to cry but held it in, were let out. I was completely broken.

When I woke up for the second time that day, there were more people in the house. I was tucked tightly into my bed, a glass of water on my nightstand. I took a big sip, changed my clothes and returned downstairs. Everyone was there, and when I say everyone, i mean almost the entire Weasley family.

Teddy and Victoire were sitting on the couch, still in their Gryffindor uniforms. James, Albus, Rose, Lucy, Doominique and Roxanne as well. Uncle George and Aunt Angelina stood in the kitchen, away from everyone else as the suffered silently. The golden trio stood next to Bill and Fleur, and they were talking quietly. Uncle Charlie stood of in the corner, talking to Percy and some other relative I did not know.

To my surprise, Draco and Astoria were there as well, each had a hand on one of their sons. When Elliot saw me, he ran over and gave me a big, warm hug. I hugged back and the room got quiet.

"Elliot, why is everyone here?" I asked. Elliot shook his head. "W-What happened?" I turned around when I heard footstep coming down the stairs. It was a doctor.

"Can I have the immediate family please?" He asked. Bill, Charlie, Percy, George, Ron, Ginny and i walked over. Ginny held my hand as we walked into the spare bedroom we had downstairs. "Now, I've checked Mr. Weasley's vitals, and they seemed pretty weak. I've scanned his heart, and I'm afraid to say that it could give any moment." He paused and looked me in the eyes. His eyes showed me that it pained him to say it. "I'm afraid he may not last the night."

And with that, I swear my own heart stopped. What was I to do?
