Maddie's pov

Christmas was fantastic! The kids enjoyed themselves, as well as their cousins whom did not get to go Hogwarts this year. I really like Teddy Lupin.. reminds me so much of Tonks and Remus! James and Albus are also darling, always teasing Lily. Then there is Hugo and Rose, always fighting and laughing.

When it was our time to leave for Hogwarts once again, we literally had to pry the Madeline and Arabella off of their cousins. When it was my time to say goodbye to Fred, he seemed rather off. He was unusually quiet, and emotionless.

Back at Hogwarts, things returned to normal. Kids scurried up and down the corridor happily. Everything in the world seemed perfect. For the living. I don't know why but I spend all my time thinking about Heaven and how wonderful it would be there. I think that because I'm older, it affects me more than it does to Toby. I think he actually likes being dead. I mean, I would constantly find myself daydreaming in the middle of class! How embarrassing.

I shook my head and opened the classroom door. "Time for a new day!" I said enthusiastically. Gryffindors and Ravenclaws bounded into the room, talking happily. They were so full of life, it was taunting me.

When the bell rang, the students got out their books and parchment. "So today we will be talking about how to treat a werewolf bite."

"Ok! That's it for today, in a few moments, I will be handing out a paper that tells you about an upcoming project. You will pick a name of a dark wizard of the past and make a presentation about them." I handed out the papers with the directions and a list of possible wizards you could get. "Everyone in a line!"

The kids scurried into a line and each picked a name from a hat. Madeline and Arabella came up and pulled, and boy did I get a kick at the names they pulled.

"Fenrir Greyback?" Madeline said. "What about you Arabella?"

"Bellatrix Lestrange." She replied. I let out a laugh and dropped the hat with wizard and witch names.

"What's so funny mu-, Professor Mason?" Arabella squeaked. The whole class was listening intently.

"It's just-" I wiped a tear from my eye and giggled madly. "It's just that Bellatrix Lestrange was my mother!" The class gasped and I continued to laugh. "I think Toby added her name in the mix."

The class looked at me like I was crazy, but I waved it off. "Ok! The project is due next month!" The bell rang and the classroom slowly emptied. I made my way to the Staff Lounge where we were supposed to have a meet.

"Yes, well I called you here today to warn you of a former substitute teacher. Professor Clevely was reported by the Ministry of Magic accused of murder and is armed and dangerous-"

"Maddie! Maddie! I need your help! Well, we, but please hurry!" Someone said in the distance.

"Did you hear that?" I asked everyone. The staff turned to me and shook their head no.

"What is it dear?" Professor McGonagall asked.

"I don't know, I just heard a-"

"Please hurry! It's me and Arthur!" The voice said again.
