You don't know me, do you?
But I do know you and that's what really matters. At the end there are millions and millions of us around, as many as the stars twinkling above us, and you accompany us in the long journey of life and death. You don't care, you just continue to go by, like a river that flows eternally. In difficult and beautiful moments you always support us.
We often accuse you of being the oppressor, even though you're just a scapegoat. In fact, during our life we deal not only with you, but also with Death and Love. They are part of us, the bonds that unite all of us together with you, the Time.
You are not the one who kills us, but we are: we shouldn't waste you on stupid matters or fleeting assets, as we always do. All the actions we make are possible thanks to you, who leads us in the shadows like a caring father.
I met you when I was born and for the past seventeen years I've wondered what you are like: a clock? An hourglass?
But your beat is going on relentlessly, whatever it is, either a clock hand or a grain of sand.
Someone wishes you could fly more quickly, maybe because they fear you. Others hope you could just slow down, because they can't carry on, leaving behind their happier past, scared by what the future sets aside for them. However, I'm learning over the years to love you and enjoy every second, minute, hour, day that you kindly offer us like a gift from the sky, that we always take for granted, even though we continue to accuse you of our sins without realizing how much precious you are to us.
So I want to thank you.
Because we can rely on you during the hard times.
Because of all the beautiful moments you give us.
Because, despite the fact you have to keep on going, you can make just a single second everlasting.
Because of your infinite patience with us.
Because you always do your best in your work and continue to watch us behind the scenes.
Because of your presents: seconds, minutes, hours, days, months and years.
Because you try to make true all of our wishes.
Because of all the countless things that aren't possible without you.
Now you must think I'm kinda stupid to say these words to you, but I really meant what I've said, because I want to live my life to the fullest. I want to spend every single moment of it like there will be no tomorrow.
With tears.
With smiles.
With love.
Thank you Time,
for giving me the chance to fulfill my dreams and enjoy my life fully. I'll trust you forever.
I love you
