Chapter 2: Investigating

The next day I gave Jane a kiss goodbye. I arrived at work. And saw Chief Inspector Reynolds waiting for me. So we got on a police car. Chief Inspector Reynolds drove the car.

We arrived at Abbey Wood. We got out of the car. We walk towards a door and then I pressed the doorbell. A woman with ginger hair opened the door. "Excuse me are you Dorothy Mitchell?" I ask "yes I am and is this about my son's murder?" She ask. "I'm Chief Inspector Keith Reynolds and this my partner Inspector Garrett Loughton and yes we are investigating the murder of your son" Chief Inspector Reynolds explained. "Come in" she said and we went inside of the house.

"Do you want tea?" She ask "no thanks" I said. "Mrs Mitchell could you tell us about your son James before the murder?" Chief Inspector Reynolds ask. "James was Jack the lad and he was a womaniser as well" said Mrs Mitchell. "Did your son had enemies?" I ask. "No what I know of and James was a loveable guy and nobody wanted to hurt him" she answered. "Do you know what happened before he died?" Chief Inspector Reynolds. "He went into a nightclub with some geezers just to have fun and get in with a bird" Mrs Mitchell answered. "Do you know who was the lads he hangs out with?" I ask. "I know their names but I don't know their surnames" said Mrs Mitchell. "Could you tell us their names? Chief Inspector Reynolds ask. "Henry, Albert and Tom" she answered. "Mrs Mitchell did your son knew Tom Chad?" I ask "I think so but who is this Tom Chad fella?" She ask. So I showed her a picture of Tom Chad. "That's one of his best mate" she said. "Tom Chad was one of the victims got killed just like your son" Chief Inspector Reynolds explained. "Blimey hell" she said. We shook hands and left James Mitchell's house. We got back to the police station.
