Bed of Roses

I miss you when I wake up in the morning,
Knowing you won't be here until a good amount of years,
Your turquoise eyes slowly fading,
Under the bright sun and gun barrel.

I miss you when I am laying on the bed of roses,
The one you wanted to see me in,
Covered in nothing but red petals,
Begging for you to join me.

I hear myself cry for you when sleep fails me,
Wondering when you will join me in my slumber,
But I know that will take some time

Because I am outnumbered.

When you die they send you away,

To a marvelous place like this,

Where there is no wrong, no evil,
But happiness and perfection every day.

Will you join me, my love?
It's been ten years already,

And your heart is still beating strong

Despite being unsteady?

I know you are still young,
So was I when I left you,
But when that life of yours closes,

Will you join me on that bed of roses?
