that's what he did until a loud shout echoed throughout his house, seeming like it came from the living room. vik tried to hear what the muffled words were, but he only managed to pick up on one in particular, one that made chills run down his spine.

vik had been thinking about going downstairs and checking out the situation. after hearing that word again, he simply rolled over, covered his ears, and tried to fall asleep again.
