Hello, everyone!  This is going to be my first attempt at writing a half-decent story! I will do my best to update it at a consistent rate. I would really appreciate if you left constructive criticism and pointed out my grammatical errors! I would also appreciate you all spreading the word if you enjoy this first chapter! Anyways I've gone on for long enough, enjoy the first chapter of Elemental Aliens!

"Deshion quit it!" squealed my younger brother Levedon as I tickled his underarms with skill. His giggles echoed throughout our spacious room.

I took great joy in messing with my younger brother, but this time it was for good reason. He started it.

"Deshion! Levedon! Both of you quit, you just woke your father, and you know he has a terrible headache right now!" scolded our mother from the floor below.

"Sorry, Mother!" we shouted in unison with a look of feigned ignorance on our faces. We paused our shenanigans for only a brief moment before I grabbed a pillow bopping him on the head with it playfully.  Unfortunately, this made him let out a hushed giggle. We both panicked knowing our mother had very keen ears.

"BOYS!" yelled our mother with greater annoyance in her voice this time.

"Yes, Mother?" Levedon innocently replied as he stood up from the bed, swiftly moving out of range of the pillow.

"Come down to dinner!" our mother replied once again however this time her voice trembled with a subdued laugh. She seemed to know everything!

"Alright, we'll be right down!" I yelled, throwing the pillow at my brother before stepping through the open doorway and onto the hovering disc with my brother right behind me shaking his head in annoyance. After a verbal command from me, it smoothly lowered, delivering us to the main floor, and emitted a quiet hum as it did so.

We saw our father sitting at the head of the table as we made our way to our own chairs. Mother gave us both a brief smile before standing, and worriedly putting a hand to our father's forehead.  He had been infected with an unknown illness that the doctors didn't know how to treat, so our mother had taken up the duty of healing father herself.

Sadly it had not been successful thus far, and we all knew deep down that he could take a turn for the worse at any moment.

"Your temperature is high again," she announced her voice ridden with trepidation. She then reached into the freezer, pulling out a piece of ice and wrapping it in cloth to dull the chilliness.

He made a funny face hoping she would leave him be, but mother doesn't back down easily. "Now hold this there for a while, sweetheart," she instructed him.

Forgetting about his gruesome migraine, he nodded his head, abruptly wincing at the pain.

Mother then sat down at the wooden table with worry still clear on her face. "Sit down, boys," she instructed.

For dinner, she had prepared Bertifig, which is equivalent to a tough chicken, and on the side were Perdigin, a starchy purple plant, like a potato, and Cridin, a leafy yellowish vegetable.

As abnormal as this meal sounds to a human, it's very common for Zakandrians.

"So, boys, did you clean your room?" father asked.

"Umm, not yet father," I replied.

He sighed.  "Alright, as soon as you're finished with your dinner, both of you go up and clean. I asked you to do that four days ago, and I'm getting tired of asking. Your behaviors have been terrible lately. You both should know better, especially you, Deshion, you're sixteen years old. If you continue to act like children, I will treat you like children." He scolded, anger evident in his voice.
