Jonathan

I felt Nancy's hand intertwine with mine as we walked silently through the dark empty hallways.
My stomach churned a little more every time we turned a corner.
These men were dangerous, and I didn't want to find out what would happen if they caught us.

"We need to find the quarantine rooms, if they think we are coming they would put them somewhere impossible to get in."
Hopper says as we pass by rooms full of strange equipment.

"MIKE!!"

I immediately freeze and watch as everyone does the same, they heard it too!
"That has to be El!" I say as I quickly make my way towards the screams.
I feel a hand on my chest stopping me from moving forward.

"We have to stick together kid."
Hopper says as I push his hand down.

"We will find them Jonathan. It's alright, we need to listen to Hopper."
My Mom says as she rubs my shoulder, trying to comfort me.

We continue down the hall and finally make a change of scenery as Hopper disappears into one of the rooms. We all follow behind him, but nothing could have prepared us for what was waiting on the inside.

Mike

"You're a smart kid Micheal, a lot of boys your age would not make the decision that you have."
The bad man says as he leans too close to me.

"Eat shit!"
I say as he leans back with a devilish grin on his face.

I suddenly feel my cheek burn, realizing he slapped me. I hear his laughter and refuse to look him in the eyes.

"You just don't get it! I am helping you, you should be thanking me!"
He says with more anger in his voice.
I try to stop the tears from falling but it's no use, I couldn't be brave anymore.

I feel his hands on my temples as he places something on my head.
I didn't know what it was... but I knew what it was going to do.

I closed my eyes and thought about remembering, just remember!
Remember her hair, and her smile, the way she made me feel.
If I remembered enough, maybe I wouldn't forget.

Eleven

I watch as my tears hit the ground below me.
Everything was falling a part, piece by piece.

"El!!"

I feel a hand on my shoulder but am too weak to lift my head.

"El... sweetie it's okay!"

I hear her sweet motherly voice and look up to see them, all of them!
My hands and feet are quickly freed and I waist no time as I rush to the door.

"Mike!"
I yell at them as they all quickly follow.

"El, do you know where Mike is?"
Nancy asks as I loosen my grip on the door.

I didn't.
I didn't know where he was.
He got taken away and I had no clue where he was.
I felt the tears start to fall once again, knowing that Mike was too far for me to save.
