Chapter 1: Karl Heinz and New family

Airisu POV

Slowly I opened my eyes, I see ceiling and I lay on a soft comfy bed? How did I get here? Than, I suddenly remember! I was drowning at the lake and I saw a man appeared and saved me… I immediately sat up but feel a little headache. I groan, “Oww…”

“Oh! You’re awake!” A voice can be heard from beside me.

I look at the side to see the man that saved me, sitting on a chair beside me with a smile. Somehow, I can sense powerful energy from him saying that he is powerful and a vampire but not an ordinary vampire. More like a king. I become afraid of him due to his high class even though Kuran clan is high class but not higher than him.

He chuckle at my reaction before ruffles my head with a smile, a genuine smile. “You don’t have to be afraid. I am glad that you’re alright… after that drowning..” he gritted at the words ‘drowning’.

Wondering why he suddenly changed mood when he mention drown… wait a minute… does that mean… he saw everything?!I gulp in anxious, trying to calm down but what catch me off guard is the next thing he speak.

“Will you be my daughter?”

“Eh?”

He smile, pats my head as he continue, “I never have a daughter before and I only have sons. Is it okay for you? I don’t forc—“

I don’t know what just happen, I feels tears fall to my cheeks and without realize it, I hugged him while crying. I don’t know if this is tears of joy of what I feel right now. Feeling happy to have someone accept me as their daughter. “Yes Daddy!” I exclaims cheerfully.

He chuckle at my cheerfulness, lifting me up and place me on his laps so I could looked at him with huge smile. “My name is Karl Heinz. What’s yours?”

As I expected. No wonder his sense is powerful because he is the vampire king!

“Airisu…” I looked down sadly, “…Kuran…”

He stare at me for a moment before he speak, “Do you want to change your name?” I nodded and think for a name but I don’t have a clue. I look at him, telling him I don’t know how to name myself. He understood now as he close his eyes and opened to meet my gaze.

“How about Elise Sakamaki?”

“Elise…” I try saying my new name before look at him with a smile, “ I love it!” I beam.

He laughed, “I am glad you like it, Elise.”

Karl POV

After what happened yesterday, I felt anger come over me because of what they did to this beautiful little girl. To think the famous Kuran family that was known for their friendliness and for not misuse their status, would do something so harsh to this girl just for her icy blue eyes which its find me attractive and beautiful.

Few weeks ago, I took a break from my work so that I could visit the Kuran family to pay their respect and spend few hours with them but when I heard they said they only have 2 child, one daughter and one son… I noticed that it was odd because I sensed another Kuran blood related in the mansion. They doing pretty good hiding a child but my senses are high so that they can’t fooled me.

That was when I wonder… why would they lied having 2 children when they have another one and why do they hide the child?

When I left their mansion, I kept my presence so no one could sense me and I followed where the last Kuran was hiding until I arrived in front the basement. What kind of child staying in the basement? I hides inside the shadow and entered. There, I saw a beautiful yet adorable child crying across the room with scars and cuts somewhere at her skin. I could smell her blood in the room.
