I was only 16 at the time. Barely an adult, yet I was still given the same fate as many before me. This all started when I got invited to go to a party by my friend, Emma. I thought this would be a great opportunity to meet new people and to become popular since I was always treated as a nobody
I arrived at the party, not knowing what to expect. Perhaps this wasn't the best idea, i thought to myself looking around at the huge crowd of people. My ocean blue eyes scanned over the crowd and landed on Emma. She was mingling with another group. Emma's eyes landed on me, "HEY ANDREA, OVER HERE!" she shouted over the music. I headed over to where Emma was, and gave a small smile looking over the people she was just talking to. Only then did I notice that a lot of the people here were highly intoxicated with alcohol.
There was a group. We called them the Ravens because they were a bad group that stole, dealt with drugs etc. and over all had a bad aura to them. I thought they where my key to becoming popular. How foolish of me. I looked at Emma, "Hey em? I'll be right back." I then looked at the Ravens, and walked towards them. They noticed this and the "leader" Alex approached me. I was nervous, and I even questioned what was going to happen. I anticipated something bad, but that never happened. He handed me a drink. This confused me, but I did not question it. I had seen this before. My parents drink this a lot. It's alcohol and I shouldn't be drinking it! I'm under aged! The alcohol smelled strong and I knew it was bad to do so, yet I still drank it. I wanted more, so I drank more and more until my vision got blurry and I kept tripping over stuff. I started to get tired so I left the party and hopped into my car.
I drove across a busy highway with my clouded vision, and then it hit me. The car rolled down the hill and into the water. I panicked as I felt the breath being knocked out of my body. My body was num from the impact of the car hitting mine, and I was slipping away in and out of consciousness. It was silent. I couldn't here a thing but the sound of my heartbeat decreasing. Is this it? Am I gonna die? My vision blacked out and the car sunk deeper. I was gone and there was no turning back.
