It's been a couple weeks now and I still haven't been able to successfully freeze this toxin. I just don't have the equipment to do so and I can't afford to let it leak anymore. I'd have yet another episode and to be perfectly honest I've been nauseous enough as it is.

"I'm still hungry." I told Lex as I rested my head on the wall. I was seated on the floor with Lex across from me.
"Would you like mine?" He asked rather doe eyed. I hesitated, but he handed over the rest of his plate anyway. My eyes were fixated on the bracelet wrapped tight on my ankle as he did so. We weren't allowed to leave until I did what I was asked to. That just didn't seem realistic or possible given the situation.

There was a light tap on the door. Lex looked at me with a skeptic expression painted across his face. No one has simply...knocked. Lex still had purple fingerprint marks left on his collar bone from Joker's latest visit. He certainly didn't have the courtesy. He waltzes in like he owns the place. I suppose he does.

There was a gentle knock once more. Am I even allowed visitors? I guess as long as I don't leave this apartment the bracelet won't beep. I got up quickly, feeling a little light headed.

"Take it easy." Lex warned, calling out to me. I felt my nerves prick at my skin as thoughts of who I'd open the door to see raced through my mind a million miles a second. Opening the door, I couldn't feel more relieved to see Harley standing there with a huge grin on her face.

"Hey Meers!" She practically attacked me with a hug and then dragged me in to the apartment, closing the door behind her.
Hi..." I mumbled. "Why are you-"
"I came to check on ya! While Joker is out and abouts ya know?"
"Oh, where is-"
"He's with Darksteid somewhere. I think with Dr. Cane too." She shrugged holding a cell phone to me.
"What's this for?"
"Your one phone call!" She winked. Behind me I heard Lex's footsteps come closer from behind. They stopped.
"Hey look at you!" Harley exclaimed. I turned to see Lex standing only a few feet away. He was observing. Lex started looking around. "No no, your head silly! I didn't get to say it before, but your hair, it suits ya!" She pointed and wiggled her finger. He smiled and came to join us. Together, we sat.
"We get one phone call Lex. I don't know anyone to call, do you?" I went to hand the phone to him but he gently pushed it back to me.
"I...uh, no. No one at LexCorp wants to hear from me right now." He told me.
"There is no LexCorp anymore Lex." Harley sighed.
"What? Who's managing-"
"Its CaneCorp." Harley booped his nose. "It doesn't have the same ring to it if you ask me."
"Ooooo let's call Superman!" Lex joked as if he were mocking an idiotic, and starstruck, civilian. Harley couldn't help but laugh. I couldn't help but glare at the phone. The room fell silent...until Harley started humming childishly to fill the empty air.
"I have an idea." I finally blurted out, taking the phone. I stood and walked back to our room. I searched through Lex's small belongings until I found a small piece of crumbled paper. Returning to them, I held it up to Lex. "You'll call Barry!"

"Barry Allen?" He asked. "For what reason?"
"Well for one, he's capable of getting here immediately."
"Flash, huh?" Harley scrunched her face. "Us villains don't like him."
"He showed Lex a lot of hospitality." I assured her.
"And science." Lex charmed in. "Why do I have to call him?"
"He knows you better."
He scoffed. "We both know that's not true."
I huffed. "Lex, please. Think about this. You're a genius. He can be here and back in no time at all. He has access to StarLabs to ask them to do what is impossible for me to do here! If he can make just a prototype of some sort, Joker will let us go knowing we have the potential to make them in mass production given the materials and equipment."
Lex's eyes opened wide as I spoke. His lips crashed in to mine so quickly I almost missed it...I said almost. He took the phone from me. "You're too intelligent for my well-being Mira." He mumbled and dialed. Before he pressed the little green call button he looked up at me.
"You really think he'll do this knowing it's to aid a war?" He asked.
"It's not to aid a war." I assured him.
"It's kind of handing Joker what he wanted."
"Joker can't make anything! He's-"
"Hey! Watch it!" Harley warned as she got up to raid the fridge. "There's nothing in here." She sounded disappointed. I could have told her that.
"Technically you could make up a blueprint that depicts a nonfunctional protégé."Lex concurred.
"That'd get us thrown right back in here." I burrowed my eyebrows.
He leaned over to whisper in my ear. "We'll just have to draw up a plan in the meantime, won't we? After all, you've played superman before, saving me like good heroes do my darling." I felt my cheeks flush red. He kissed my cheek and dialed the phone. Harley sat in front of me. Noting my cheeks, she made her fingers in to the shape of a heart playfully, silently teasing me.
