John 16:7 (AMP)
"But I tell you the truth, it is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper (Comforter, Advocate, Intercessor--Counselor, Strengthener, Standby) will not come to you; but if I go, I will send Him (the Holy Spirit) to you [to be in close fellowship with you]."
~~~My Thoughts~~~
In this verse, Jesus is referring to the Holy Spirit. He is talking about the advantages of Him leaving and the Holy Spirit coming. We have to remind ourselves that the same Holy Spirit Jesus speaks of in this verse is available to us today. The Holy Spirit is our Comforter and Strengthener, so why do we constantly run to other things/people when we are in need? He is right there for us. We need to rely on His powerful touch in our lives, and let Him guide us through hard circumstances on this earth.
