Dorothy James of 237 Grive Street was absolutely normal in weird senses. She dressed like everyone else, kept her mouth shut, but wasn't normal in any way. Maybe it wasn't the way she dressed or the color of her hair but the blood inside her veins; the magic that coursed through it.

All her life she had been taught never to do magic in front of non-mags or speak of the witch gene in her family, and for good reason. Wizards were a disgrace to the human race, they didn't want the magical people there. And for a long time that peace was kept...
