you laced my bones in nicotine never ceasing to amaze me. never leaving my mind even though I had millions of things to worry about. you remind me of strawberries on a warm summer day and you were the magic in cigarettes. seeing you change wasn't the worst part, it was looking back at who you used to be.

i want to run my fingers through your tangled coconut flavored hair one more time and reminisce on everything that we used to be. my favorite memories were faded and erased; from picking mustard colored dandelions to cutting my knees on the sharp petals. you were midnight and you were pure—now, i don't even know you anymore. i just wish we were the same, but i know it can't happen.

you moved on, but your still locked in my head, and i can't find the key to let the thoughts escape
