Chapter 6

Katelyn's POV

I turned to Lauren once we stopped in the parking lot of the hotel.

"Thanks for the ride," I said as we both got out.

She shrugged, a smile on her face. "No problem," she assured. "We're going to the same place, aren't we?"

I smiled, confirming. "How was filming Steven's death scene?"

She took a deep breath. "Brutal," she responded. "Really, really brutal."

"I can imagine."

We talked until the elevator stopped and Lauren got out.

Soon enough, I was standing in front of the door to me and Chandler's room.

I didn't even know if he was back from running errands yet. I was really nervous.

I took a deep breath, unlocked the door, and walked in.

Chandler was there. He was fast asleep on the couch, his bags packed.

Confused, I went over to him and shoved his arm.

He groaned and sleepily shoved my hand back.

I rolled my eyes. "Chandler," I whispered.

Finally, he was able to wake up and put his hands over his face.

"Why are you sleeping on the couch?" I asked.

When he finally looked at me, he sighed and pushed himself into more of a sitting position.

"Because," he explained, still sleepy. "I can't see this working."

My eyes widened as I looked at him. He was breaking up with me.

Seeing my expression, he quickly went on. "It isn't about the stupid text thing anymore. You're going back to Arizona...and I'm staying here. You're gonna meet someone else."

I shook my head, slightly dazed. "I'll wait for you," I whispered.

"I can't make you do that," he said.

"It's not your choice," I reminded him, getting a little angry.

Finally, he sighed and looked off to the side. "Fine," he gave in. "We'll talk about it in the morning."

I breathed a slight sigh of relief. "Okay," I told him.

He nodded. "Now go to bed," he chuckled before laying back down.

I nodded back and gave his hand a squeeze before changing into pajamas and getting in bed, too tired to take a shower.

Okay, this could work.
