Katy’s POV

DAD!” I screamed, storming into the pack house.  I was a woman on a mission, hear me roar. “I want to talk!”

Hush child,” my mother replied ushering me into the living room, “what is the matter in which you can’t wait another second to talk about? Oh, hello Kyle.”

Kyle nodded his head briefly then went back to surveying the room.  From an outsider’s perspective, I thought, it was a fairly nondescript room, yet it still had an air of comfort that permeated the air. The best thing I loved about this room was that two of the three walls were actually, floor to ceiling, clear cut, glass that let me see the forest right outside perfectly. It held the mundane couches, which was made for only three people, yet I could remember all those times my brothers and I had crammed on top of it.  They couches always ended up pushed up against the glass, even though my mother desperately tried to keep them from actually touching one another.  Then there was the huge coffee table that dominated most of the room.  It came up to about my mid-thy and underneath were large wooden containers, within you would be able to find just about any board game, arts and craft project, and arrangement of DvDs or Cds.  The table itself was covered with coasters, and the wireless game controllers that were used for the 40’’ LCD TV screen that hung off one of the remaining walls.  Above me I could hear the soft swoosh of the fan blades circling around and around, causing the light connected to it, to hum with the electricity waiting to be flash on.

“I want to know why dad, firstly, finds it so hard to believe that I can have a true mate.  I also want to talk to him about having more responsibilities and knowledge of the inner workings of being alpha so I’m not so clueless about the position when I take over in a little less than a year.” I told my mother honestly.

“I believe that can be arranged.” A voice boomed behind me.

My mother smiled, “Welcome home dear!” She pushed past me and ran into my dad’s open arms and captured his lips.

“Ewww!” I squealed.  “My eyes, my eyes! I’m forever scared. Noooo!”  My parents broke apart and grinned over at me like two caught teenagers that were happily in love and didn't care about openily showing anyone and everyone their love.  I rolled my eyes. “I still want to talk to you dad.”

Kissing my mom one last time, he nodded and motioned for me to follow him into his office down the hall.

Kyle grabbed my hand and I smiled over at him, but as we started toward my dad, my mom spoke up, “Kyle will you keep me company while Katy talks to her father?”

He glanced at me and nodded and let go of my hand. “Okay Mrs. W.”

She waved him off, “Please just call me mom or Adrianna,” she smiled, “after all, we’re family now.”  I smiled and turned back around and went after my father, leaving Kyle to chat with my mom.

Walking into his office, I shut the door softly behind me, and sat in one of the plush chairs opposite of him.  He then folded his hands together and put them on top of his desk.

His office was just like I remembered it.  Sitting behind the desk were large book shelves drilled into the wall. They extended from one side of the wall to the other and were set up in three rows right on top of each other.  They were pretty much stuffed full of books and various pictures of my whole family, the pack, and various barb-b-que events we had had over the years and other knick-knacks. The walls were a stark white, much to my mother’s displeasure, and the floor was covered in a soft, fuzzy, brown carpet.  On top of his desk was his trusty computer that was practically pre-historic but he always said it "got the job done” despite his cursing when the internet moved about as fast as growing grass in the desert.
