"She threw her fist at the brick wall, once again. Trying to feel worse pain, rather than what she felt in her stomach right now. Again she hit the wall, bursting out in tears. "You were supposed to be my best friend!!!" She screamed at the wall. "You could have had anyone else. Why did it have to be HIM?!" Lexie stood with her head down, watching her best friend break every bone in her hand. And it was all her fault. She did not dare say she was sorry. That would only add fire to Maci's flame. She watched as Maci fell to the ground, the tears now pouring down her face. She knew she could not help, so she just walked away silently. "You're just going to walk away from me?" Maci yelled after her, "like I don't even matter? Like we haven't been BEST friends for years?!" Lexie half turned , looked Maci dead in the eye, and spoke with a shaky voice, "I cannot take back what I have done. I will not say I am sorry, because that will not heal the pain you are feeling. I will see it was a mistake, but I fell in love with that mistake. It's time for both of us to move on." She then turned and disappeared into the crowd of students that had gathered around them. Maci laid on the ground , putting her face against the concrete. The rough, cold feel highly resembled the way she felt at this very moment. How could her best friend, her soul sister, have fallen in love with the love of her life? How could she just take him away? Why? What had she done to deserve such betrayal???
