NIPD: Team Alpha

NIPD

This time I start to walk with her. Even though my heart is pounding, I can still manage to breath. Nervousness is running on my senses.

I immediately spotted the black car with the man standing in front of it when we get outside the orphanage. The man standing beside the car, holding the door for me to climb in. "Is she alone?" He said with a firm voice.

Mother Sarah nodded and faces me.

I look at her.

She hug me "Please be careful Eliz. I'll miss you." She murmur and tears falling on her cheek

I hugged her back and nod. She pulls away.

National Investigation and Protection Department (NIPD) are the words that welcome me in front of the gate. I don't know how long we drove, because I fell asleep when we were on our way. I don't know also where is this place.

As the car enter the big gate,  the pounding of my chest start again. We are passing now a beautiful garden, some people we passed by are looking. I wonder if they can see me from outside. I read somewhere that you can't see inside the black car because the window is tinted.

I lean to the seat and hug again my bag, when suddenly the car stops. The man who drove the car get out and open the door beside me. I slid out.

My mouth fell open when I saw the huge building in front of me. I look up so I can see the top of it, But I can't. This is a skyscraper.

The man holds my back and pushes me lightly to walk inside the building. Before we reach the door, it open automatically. I am shock but didn't make it obvious. I never had an idea that the world has door that automatically open when a person stand in front of it. As we reach the lobby of the building, I take a full glance of the interior. It is all like all black, gray and white. Even the people who pass and walk in front of me are all in black too.

Feeling like there's a ball inside my throat that I need to swallow, but I can't, is the thing I felt. Excitement is obvious in my eyes. Fears are all gone.

I flinch when the man hold me on my shoulder and instruct me to ride the elevator to the third floor, he said somebody is waiting for me there.

When I reach the third floor, the elevator slide open and reveal a big auditorium. All are in gray and black colors, except from the kids sitting on the rows of chairs. They are all like my age. They all like me who came from different orphanage of the city.

"Okay now, come here." the man said with all black suit also, except his hair is long and tight on a rubber.

I get out in the elevator and follow the man.

"You sit here." He said, pointing at the chair.

Without any word he walk away and vanish at my sight, so I sit to the chair he pointed out.

I don't have any idea on what i am doing here. Is this good or bad?

A few minutes later, the lights went off and then somebody talked.

"Good morning kids. Before we start the orientation I would like to introduce myself. I am Mr. Black." the man with bearded face, lean body and very powerful voice said.

He speaks about the NIPD, how it is founded, its goals, objective, mission and vision. Which on my age of 15, I didn't understand much. But I knew that NIPD is a private sector who are adopting kids aged 15 to be part of their team.  All kids will attend classes and undergo examination and physical training to determine their skills and be part of a different team, those are to be the next member of the NIPD.
