the rain fell upon my shoes
ignoring the rest of my body
splashing lightly
rolling off the polished surface
disappearing
into the sand beneath my feet
i watch you walk away
ignoring me, as you do
laughing softly
echoing through the night
you disappear
into the darkness

falling
endless
from my eyes
