Prologue

Lightningkit and her litter-mate Snowkit were playing outside of the Windclan nursery. "Try to catch me if you can Snowkit." Lightningkit squeaked as she took off running to the elders den. "Hey that's not fair your as fast as Whiskertail." Snowkit said as she ran after her. Lightningkit looked behind her she couldn't see Snowkit at all. "Oof. Sorry Whiskertail." she said shyly getting back to her paws. "Its ok why don't you surprise Snowkit she doesn't know where you are so hide behind the Wind Rock and pounce on her when she walks by you." Lightninkit nodded. "Hey Whiskertail have you seen Lightningkit? I have been searching for her since sun-down." Snowkit said worried. "I haven't seen her sorry Snowkit maybe she is sleeping in the nursery." He said flicking his tail telling Lightinginkit to pounce on her sister. Lightningkit swerved around the rock and pined her down.... hard. "Ow ow ow get off of me! That really hurt." Snowkit said angrily stalking to the medicine cat den.

"Nice try Lightningkit but you have a lot to learn when you become a apprentice in 3 more moons." Whiskertail said sighing. She frowned and went to the nursery and slept until morning.

"Hey Snowkit do you want to play rabbit?" Darkkit asked. "Sure that would be fun. Just don't invite Lightningkit to play she'll ruin the game." Snowkit squealed. The two kits played until sun-high when they heard Swiftstar called a meeting. "Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather under the Wind Rock for a clan meeting." He fell silent until all the cats gathered around the Wind Rock.

"I must say this before we continue with the meeting. Shadowclan has been taking territory from Riverclan and Thunderclan we must prepare for a attack by making 2 new apprentices. Darkkit and Silverkit please step forward." Whiskerstar yowled calmly starring down at them with his blue green eyes. "Darkkit from this day forward until you receive your warrior name you'll be know as Darkpaw. Clearclaw will mentor Darkpaw. Clearclaw I expect you to pass down your wisdom and courage to this young cat." Swiftstar yowled approvingly as Clearclaw and Darkpaw touched noses. "Silverkit from this day forward until you receive your warrior name you'll be know as Silverpaw. Lightfeather will mentor Silverpaw. Lightfeather I expect you to pass down your swiftness and strength to this young cat." He said approvingly as the two cats touched noses and joined the crowed of cats.

"Darkpaw, Silverpaw, Darkpaw, Silverpaw, Darkpaw, Silverpaw!!" The clan cheered.

While the cats were settling down Swiftstar was waiting for the cheering of the new apprentice's new names to die down to speak again. Also since Shadowclan has taken over the other clan's territories apprentices must go out with their mentors, kits aren't aloud to go out of camp, and warriors must have two other cats with them."

While the Windclan cats were murmuring among themselves they heard a loud yowl. "Shadowclan attack!!!!!"
